This is simply an amazing guitar. I don't really use the 24 frets, but it gives you a lot more room at the top. The sound with the 5 way selector goes from Les paul to Fender strat. It has a nice bright sound with the HFS and vintage pickups. The tone control reduces the treble without the sound getting muddy. I found the tuners with the CE slipped out of tune without me using the whammy bar. But all told, the best guitar I ever owned.

After Some work, this can be the single greatest g

I got this guitar in '02, played alright, action wasnt the best thing in the world, but it got by. The sound has always been amazing with the signature PRS tone. The range of the pickup selector allows for everything from the towering power of the bridge, to the innocent sound of a strats neck pickup. If you own this or are thinking of buying it, i suggest once you own the guitar to take it to someone who is skilled in setting up a guitar. Or, just lower the bridge about 1/32 of an inch, it makes the guitar play like a high end jackson, as far as action goes. This guitar also sounds amazing in dropped and alternates tunings, but Im a standard man, and it still sounds kickass. I gave it a 7 in value because ive played cheaper guitars that can rival this.

One amazing sounding guitar!

I recently purchased this guitar and have been falling more in love with it by the day. The feel is incredible and the quality of sound that I get out of mine is well worth the high cost. The CE model is one of the better sounding PRS models in my opinion and the craftmanship is of the highest quality. I can't stop picking the guitar up and just playing for hours on it because it sounds so good. Live, it carries beautifully, is very versatile, and looks great. The price is a little on the high side, but if you can afford it you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend this guitar.

PRS for a decent price!

Can't afford a Custom or McCarty yet? Then this is the baby to have. I hear this bolt neck mess, but aren't Strats bolted on? Anyway, get it and take it to a jam session, and when the Strats try to take over, hit the middle postions on the rotary knob, and you'll whiz bang them into the bushes. Smoking guitar without a doubt, the best qauilty on earth, and it can get Les Paul or Strat sound both, plus more.

The BEST guitar EVER!!!

By Axegrinder

from Undisclosed

I waited almost 9 months for this custom made CE 24, and was well worth the wait. The action is AMAZING, and you get so many sounds due to the 5 way rotary. I play metal, so I need a trem that will stay in tune. The PRS tremelo is the best made! The strings lock only at the tuners, yet you can't get this guitar to go out of tune if you wanted to. Sting changes only take a few minutes for all 6 strings. The finish is awesome!!! A hand crafted work of art!!!!!!!! I WILL get another one.

My favorite

By Cawaynus

I play mostly classic country, classic rock, and some gospel, at local civic centers, ranches, restaurants, etc. I play lead and rythym, and although I have several good guitars, including a Tele American Deluxe, American Standard Strat, and others, I always play my PRS. It is so much more comfortable, fast, and playable. I regularly use my tremolo, it stays in tune exceptionally well, and just plain fits my playing style. Resting my hand on the tele bridge becomes uncomfortable after a few hours of playing, and does not have the tremolo. I have recently changed to the Egnater Tweeter combo amp, which is all I need where I play, and the combination of that amp and my PRS produces an infinite range of sounds. I can get the exact sound I am looking for, and regularly get compliments on this combination by other musicians. I have always loved my PRS, and it's even better with the recent change to the Egnater amp.

CANT BEAT THIS!

This guitar is by far the best one that i own. I have 7 guitars, including: 2 ltd, 2epiphones,1 daisy rock, 1 Jackson, and this bad boy. The sustain on this guitar is perfect, the neck is perfect, the pickups are amazing and i would never replace them, stayes in tune, and the color is amazing. Mine is a limited edition 20th aniversaty model in vintage yellow (no longer available to this model). This guitar is well worth it believe me.

Review

By Terry Bolton

from O'Fallon, Mo

This was an insurance replacement for my Gibson RD77 Artist. The factory setup left a lot to be desired and cost a far amount to correct. The tone is very mid-rangy and honky. The ouput of the pickups are not equal from humbucker to single coil. If you are going to spend this kind of money get a Gibson or Fender.

Eleven years of joy!

By Bigdog

I purchased my CE24 in 1993, it is by far the best guitar I own or have played. I also have a '78 Les Paul Deluxe and a '74 Strat. The PRS can match the sounds of the other two with superior playability. Buy one, you can't go wrong!

I have been playing a prs ce24 for 9 years and love it. The best guitar I have ever played and the only one I will play! The best thing about them is the locking tuners. it only takes one quarter of a turn to put your strings on. That's one heck of a time saver!

PRS kicks it

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

First off if you want a higher end guitar that will fill all your musical needs this is the guitar. Just look at the pros that use them, Tim Mahoney, Mike Einzinger (before the jazzmaster?), Jim Root, Carlos Santana, Dave Navaro, and both the guitarists from Breaking Benjamin, and Asthetic. Point made you play anything on this, reggae, blues, metal, hendrix, funk, everything. I own 3 of these models in whale blue, dark cherry, and the very hard to find natural. If you have the money go and buy one if not buy the SE version though it doesn't have 24 frets, I don't actually use all 24 for my own solos but, when you cover bands like 311 and Coheed and Cambria its good to have 24 frets.

ABSOLUTE SWEETNESS

By AAA-lo4kA

from Ottawa, On

I own the PRS-CE3 which is the exact same guitar as the CE-24, their only difference is that the CE-3 was made by the original PRS team. but anyway, I just really, really recommend this guitar to anyone who has an interest in absolute sweetness. This guitar has so much character it is perfect for any style of music. Also, it has to be the easiest guitar to play, no joke.

This guitar will make you famous

By dynamite slick

The density of the maple body makes for great resonance. My model has the hfs pickups as opposed to the dragons, it gives more of a metal edge. This guitar will make you want to play more. The design and aesthetic looks of PRS are unbeatable. From heavy to clean, low end tuning, everything. My PRS has definitely made me a better player. The jumbo frets make for great chord changing, and the neck plays really fast. This guitar has also furthered my personal style. I think I will only play PRS's for a long time. Also because they are American made, they will lose value in the short run, but after 10-15 years, the wood will change characteristics, ultimately making it sound better, thus increasing its value. Investment guitar. You can go on you tube and look up PRS factory tours and interviews with Paul himself. Bottom line: buy this instrument.

Great!

By PRSCAM

from Lawrenceburg, Tennessee

I've owned my CE now for about 4 months. This guitar is amazing is has sustain that last forever nothing can compare to this. I really didn't notice it untill I had played it awhile then I started comparing it to my other guitars which includes a Les Paul and a Strat and the Ce was far better than all of those. The 5way switch gives this guitar so many personalities this is a must buy!
