Eminently recordable and gig-ready.
The SE Standard 245 has a classic voice that is eminently recordable and gig-ready. The 24.5" scale length makes this instrument instantly comfortable to players who prefer short-scale guitars. Classic PRS appointments include a set Wide Fat mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard with bird inlays, PRS-Designed stoptail bridge, tuners, and 245 humbuckers. The all-mahogany body is reminiscent of Paul's first pre-factory instruments and offers a warm, woody tone.

Comments about PRS SE 245 Standard Electric Guitar:
After trying to tune for 30 minutes I started playing and did not even finish the first song. The sound was horrible and the controls changed it very little. I can't believe PRS is proud of this product. Maybe that is why there is no PRS logo anywhere on this guitar. If you want a PRS buy a real one. If you want a starter guitar stick with Squire.

Comments about PRS SE 245 Standard Electric Guitar:
I have owned many guitars from cheap Squier to custom shop Gibsons. I have to say this is the worst I have ever owned. The nut looked like it was filled by a toddler with a hacksaw. It needs replaced. The bridge was loose on the post and leaned forward creating a sitar like sound and making it impossible to intonate. Horrible scratchy pots. Input jack was not tightened down. I always heard Paul took great pride in QC even on the SE models... Based on this guitar, that is untrue..

Comments about PRS SE 245 Standard Electric Guitar:
I wanted a dual humbucker beater guitar to get some of those tones at the house. I have always had a hit or miss relationship with Epiphone guitars so I thought I would give this a shot via an open box deal.
First, the description for the open box said there are scratches on the back and on the neck. I can't find scratch #1 on it so win for me.
Second, the fit and finish on this is superb. MUCH better quality finish and electronics that Epiphones. The pickkups are just a tad hotter than PAF (vintage) and sound great and open.
This was a steal for what I paid for it and I wouldn't hesitate to get another if something happened to this one.

Comments about PRS SE 245 Standard Electric Guitar:
I love the gig bag this came with! Unfortunately, it arrived with a busted switch and I had to replace it. The switch cavity had wires tightly pinched under the broken switch. The rest of the guitar looked great and the rest of the electronics all function well.

Comments about PRS SE 245 Standard Electric Guitar:
I just got this in as a blemished and I will update my review if something changes. The fit and finish are top notch. I have seen the other reviews about some possible quality control issues and I have gone over it with a fine tooth comb and cannot find anything that is sketchy. The pickups are a slightly hotter than vintage PAF type which are perfect for me. The tone is great and the feel is outstanding. It is a steal at this price.
I have had many different dual humbucker guitars and this is my favorite. Epi's feel cheap in comparison.
