Comments about Schecter Guitar Research C-1 Apocalypse Electric Guitar:

Let me start by saying this is a great looking and feeling guitar. It is well manufactured, this one had no cosmetic flaws whatsoever. However, it had a fret buzz that I could not get rid of. I even took to a local luthier, he couldn't get it to an acceptable level either. I expected a bit of fret buzz especially on a compound neck but this was too much. The pickups sounded great in standard tuning but anything other than standard the pups sounded muddy to me. I definitely have better sounding guitars that cost less. Of course sound is subjective. I will say that even with a good set up any kind of drop tuning resulted in an increased amount of buzzing. I even tried thicker strings...which made it worse. Even regular drop D caused fret buzz at unacceptable level above the 7th fret. This is why I only gave it 3 stars. I am hoping it was just defective and the nature of the item.
I did send it back, not sure I will order another.
