i bought this guitar to play at the beach and for a second instrument. i was prepared to return or modify it, but my squier tele was tops out of the box. neck was straight and met Fender specs. i chose to reset the action and put on new strings (Dunlop), according to Fender instructions, with the tools provided. now i cannot stop playing this instrument and showing it to my friends. i put on a nylon web strap and straplocks and it sounds great. the sunburst finish is beautiful. it doesn't sound quite as good or play quite as smoothly as my American Deluxe Tele, but the difference is minimal. When i think of the guitar i tried to learn on, it makes me cry. Players who are learning or want a second instrument, take note.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster, Rosewood Fingerboard:
I purchased the Squier Gun metal Grey telecaster Affinity to modify the pickups and to have a tele in my arsenal of guitars. The tele right out of the box is beautiful ,great finish the gunmetal grey is as nice as any mexi standard tele I have owned .The rosewood fretboard is really nice. The neck pick up sounds great the bridge pickup is a bit harsh. I will be keeping the neck and replacing the bridge pup. Over all you can not beat this guitar for weight, finish and playability' For the money how can you go wrong. I have been playing guitar for over 25 years have high and lower end guitars. I have always played squiers for gigs when I was younger they play great and you dont have to worry about them getting reliced. One Last thing Play through a tube amp for best results!

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster, Rosewood Fingerboard:
So I got this guitar as alow cost option for modding, Discovered the Bridge pickup is fantastic, especially tuned for OpenG/DropD.I really like the Blue color, however the paint chips very easily, very disappointed with quality of it. The Action/playability is fantastic, very fast. Otherwise everything else is pretty good. Solid body, no other issues other than plastic jack which needs to be replaced with metal. Thinking about replacing Neck pickup with a Fitted humbucker with fatter sound. Proabbly going to change electronics package out with 4 selection switch, Tonestyler and stacked pots. If the paint continues to chip probably goin to strip the paint and clearcoat it.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster, Rosewood Fingerboard:
I've always been a huge fan of Squire Affinity Series Telecaster! Great tone and incredible action! However this one takes it to the next level... The color! I selected the Competition Orange because orange is my favorite color, not to take away from it's playability and value. Do yourself a favor, get one! True to it's name... Squire

Nice set up right out of the box. I won't have to send it to my luthier friend for anything. I like everything about it. I am sold on the quality of the Squire Affinity line. And the price, are you kidding me?

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster, Rosewood Fingerboard:
I bought mine back when it was one hundred fifty nine clams, and was (and still am) blown away by the "Bang For The Buck"! Mine is the Butterscotch Blonde, with MAPLE fingerboard. I installed "String Thru" Ferrules, and turned the controls around 180 deg, ala: Commander Cody, so as to do Vol knob rolls. Used it in band for DADGAD tuning, H. T. Women, and others. This guitar REALLY 'HONKS"!! The only thing I regret is not noticing the difference between mine, and the "Combo Pack" also offered at the time which had 22 Frets, as well as the "String Thru" set up, live and learn, (Hopefully, Lol!). Buy it, you'll love it. Gb bg

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster, Rosewood Fingerboard:
Want some Tele twang on the cheap? Buy one of these. Never thought I'd be a Tele guy, but I've had mine for awhile and still love playing it. The bridge pickup sounds especially sweet, clean or crunchy. Is it perfect? No, it's a cheap guitar and it has some cheap guitar issues (But then, not so cheap guitars can have issues, too.) Still, there's nothing that I have actually needed to fix. I set the action where I like it and have otherwise been playing it happily just as it came out of the box. Buy one – it's a lot of fun for the buck.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster, Rosewood Fingerboard:
I play contemporary music at our church and it does everything I need it to do, had a really good set up , good tone , good quality and sounds great especially through my Line 6 Spyder 4. I have owned more expensive Fenders in the past but honestly the difference is minimal if any. Squier has really put good quality and workmanship into their instruments and it shows. For the money you would be hard pressed to find a guitar for a better deal and MF was very helpful with fast shipment.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster, Rosewood Fingerboard:
bought it just because I like bright colors.(orange!!!) With that being said I found it to be a great value, considering price. Its solid, the hardware is cheap but good enough for now (tuners are cheap, bridge screws rattle and move, easily fixed with lok tite). Pickups are a bit weak ,but it does give you a great tele tone. I really love squier necks they are small on the thin side and the light finish has the hand gliding with ease. Any part breaks you just change it with a better brand and this thing will last a long long time, if Pu's are too weak for you you can change to what you like. I dont think you can go wrong with this if you want a tele its a good place to start.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster, Rosewood Fingerboard:
Very beautiful guitar, but It arrived with a bowed neck. I fixed it and it plays very well now, but the pickups don't sound that good. But what can you expect for 200? Spend 100 bux more on pickups and it would be a very nice guitar!
