So I got the red one, wife saids its pink? Anyway we both like the color, sort of retro looking. Very comfortable to play and mine came with10s on it. I have played for years so I know how to make adjustments etc . I did polish the frets which makes a big deference when bending strings. Guitar is rock solid and sounds very strat like. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Sterling Cutlass:
I bought the olympic white model, looks much different than the pictures here, more of a cream color than bleach-white, mint pickguard, I like it. Very playable out of the box. I did some minor string height and neck relief adjustments (personal preference stuff), and played it for a couple of weeks. Wow this thing feels great, plays great, and sounds great!
The pickups are Alnico, measure 4.8K (whatever that's worth), and sound very Strat-like, more vintage than hot, very nice! I prefer a little hotter bridge pickup, no need to change it out though.
After a few weeks of playing it, I had to start wiggling the pickup selector switch to get the middle pickup to work, ugh. I had a new selector switch (from another project), so, I figured I'd void the warranty, pull the pickguard, and replace the switch myself. The pots are full size, but, the switch is one of the cheap-O looking models, figures. I installed a slightly hotter bridge pickup while I had the guard off.
At the sale price (~350), I still consider the guitar a bargain. At regular price (~500?), there may be better options?
I did NOT buy this guitar from Musicians Friend. I have bought a number of items from MF, never a problem, maybe I should have done that this time!

Comments about Sterling by Music Man Cutlass CT50 Electric Guitar:
I needed a three single coil (S Type) guitar for an upcoming project and had settled on a model from another brand. However, that guitar sold while I was shopping around. With time running out, I purchased this guitar with some concerns that I would not be happy with it. Good News! This guitar is head and shoulders above everything else I tried. I am so pleased with it.
I have to say that I was initially put off by the body shape. However, after owning it and playing it, I must admit that it is extremely ergonomic and comfortable. Also, at the time of purchase, the action was lower than I would normally go for. The guitar came with a .009 to .042 set of strings. I typically use a .010 to .046 set. Once I put my normal set of strings on the guitar, the action rose up slightly and it plays like a dream. At first, I thought the neck was perfect in terms of width but shallower (Thinner) than I prefer. But, with the bigger strings and slightly higher action, it feels great.
Putting aside all of my reactions to this guitar pre and post purchase and focusing on real experience with it, the verdict is that it is extraordinary. As it is set up now, the neck is fantastic to play, the body is comfortable, and the pickups are stellar. This guitar is a blues powerhouse with lots of great funk and country tones to be had as well. Using one of my high gain amps with some clever EQ, I was even able to get believable metal tones out of it. This is a universal instrument. It can do anything.
I have only two negative things to say. First off, the pickup selector switch seems to be of a poor quality. Secondly, I find that the height adjustment screws for the bridge saddles are longer than they need to be and tend to stick up too far. Beyond those two gripes, this is a fantastic guitar.

Huge fan of Music Man products. This is my second purchase from the Sterling line. This guitar plays and feels great! I would compare this to any major name strats out there. The price point is unbelievable for what you're getting.
