Comments about Sterling by Music Man JP100D John Petrucci Signature Series Koa Top Dimarzio Pickups Electric Guitar:

I was really happy when I got this...I've played since I was 15 yrs old that's 30 yrs.....and this is the best guitar I've played or owned. ....it has a bit of fret buzz on the 18th fret but it doesn't come trough the amp so I'm cool with that.....the trem doesn't go out of tune as long as you don't go all Steve Vai with it...

Comments about Sterling by Music Man JP100D John Petrucci Signature Series Koa Top Dimarzio Pickups Electric Guitar:

I can't say I'm a fan of John Petrucci, and I was not really impressed with the way this guitar looked, but I wanted to give it a shot because of the spec's--especially the high-end, direct-mount custom Dimarzio pickups in this thing. It really roars with both pickups engaged and sounds great--probably the best-sounding "super-strat" I have, even ones that cost 2X as much. Bridge pickup is very trebly, but if you have your amp set right, it sounds very crisp and clear. No major complaints. Set up straight out of the box was outstanding--far better than some high-end guitars I've bought in the past. One concern is that the tremolo arm attaches with a very small screw that I'm worried might fall out if I'm not careful. The gig bag that this comes with is definitely on the cheap-looking side but has very thick padding on both sides and should protect the guitar well. Funny thing is that the back of this guitar, I think, looks better than the front--the darker color burgundy on the back actually looks really good. In all, this is a solid bargain even at retail price and should probably cost a few hundred more than it does. My new everyday workhorse.
