OVERVIEW

Built for the performer with scalloped œX top bracing for superior clarity and projection.

Takamine's P4DC dreadnought cutaway combines tradition with contemporary refinements, including a resonant solid spruce top with scalloped œX top bracing for superior clarity and projection, and a solid sapele back with sapele sides for rich, warm sound.

Built with the performer in mind, the P4DC features Takamine’s proprietary CTP-3 Cool Tube preamp system paired with the unique Palathetic under-saddle pickup for peerless amplified response. The dual-channel CTP-3 provides low-voltage tube tone, variable from bright and brilliant to thick and warm, three-band EQ with semi-parametric midrange, auxiliary input and volume (for use when a second pickup is added), and an onboard chromatic tuner.

Other performance-enhancing features include a convenient Venetian cutaway for easy access to the upper reaches of the fingerboard, and Takamine' asymmetrical neck profile which is slightly thinner on the bass side so that it fits the natural shape of your hand, resulting in a comfortable feel and improved playability. The split bone saddle provides more accurate intonation, while the pin-less rosewood bridge makes string changes a breeze.

Premium design appointments include elegant ivory body binding with dark wood purfling, a rosette featuring concentric rings and wood marquetry, a rosewood fingerboard with ivory binding and wood œdot-in-dot inlays, gold tuners with amber buttons, a natural bone nut, elegant red tortoise pickguard and a gloss natural finish.

Includes hardshell case.

CTP-3 CoolTube Preamp Features
The CTP-3 CoolTube, the first and only onboard tube preamp for acoustic guitar, produces a rich, full sound. It takes its name from innovative Takamine technology that runs its 12AU7 dual-triode vacuum tube at very low voltages—so low that it stays cool to the touch—with variable tube tone that can be adjusted from bright and brilliant to thick and warm.

The full-range EQ section uses shelving filters to sculpt bass and treble frequencies, with semi-parametric shaping control over the midrange. A control knob adjusts the frequency from 250Hz to 5kHz, and a pinpoint-precise onboard chromatic tuner is standard equipment. Other features include Mid and High cut switches for a second pickup.

Comments about Takamine Pro Series 4 Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is my first high end guitar . I shopped and played a lot of other guitars before deciding on the Takamine P4DC. This guitar has a rich powerful sound. The electronics are spot on. It delivers only an amplified sound, not a distorted electronic sound. I play with a bluegrass band and a praise and worship team. We do everything from out timey to bluegrass to newgrass to gospel to contemporary. This guitar does it all!

Comments about Takamine Pro Series 4 Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Right out of the box,set up was right on...didn't care for the strings that came on it ...sounded good, didn't like the feel...had a little trouble with it on my first show with it,couldn't see the fret markers on a dim stage, very small dots but I had only gotten the guitar the day before..once I played it enough to get used to it,no prob...the craftsmanship was beautiful...The Ct3 Cool tube pre amp sounds amazing...I honestly don't think I have ever heard a better acoustic electric tone...very warm...transparent,crisp and clean with a beautiful ring...probably the best feature of the guitar...only downside is short battery life, about 25 hrs...requires 4 AA...comes with a nice hardshell case...I don't think there is a better guitar for the money....buy it !
