The Taylor 655ce 12-String Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar Sitka combines spruce and maple for sparkling sound and beautiful looks. A signature quality of big leaf maple ” besides its crisp, bright tone ” is its ability to cut through on stage. In live performance situations with the Taylor 655ce you will easily be able to hold your own with the rest of the band. The 655ce guitar is a visual standout too, with its jaw-dropping maple figured back and sides.

Taylor 12-string guitars deliver the same easy-to-hold, stay-in-tune playability as their six-string siblings. With their comfortable necks, Taylor 12-strings are ideal for the mainly six-string guitarist as well as the true 12-string guitar enthusiast. The 655ce Jumbo 12-string gains increased versatility with a Venetian cutaway and state-of-the-art Taylor Expression System electronics.

Best strummer ever made

By Gene Butler

Comments about Taylor 655ce 12-String Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar (2011 Model):

I own and have owned my 655ce taylor since 2000 and it's simply the best guitar i've ever played. I've had a number of offers to trade away this guitar for Martins Guilds etc. After allowing those owners to play my 655. Not a chance. It only gets better with age. I call it the guitar with the magic strings. When you experience this, it's no longer a question but a desire. Gene

Comments about Taylor 655ce 12-String Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar (2011 Model):

I am biased, but Bob Taylor has created one of the finest guitars on the plant. The workmanship even in the entry level models is superb. Now that Andy Powers has joined Breedlove in the custom design shop, I can only wait with great anticipation for the creativity these two together will bring to the table for the Taylor guitar enthusiast
I have owned several Taylor guitars and still own a K10ce/GS Mini, T5-C1/314ce/Baby,354ce and now just acquired a 655ce. I can not begin to tell you how beautiful the tone that rings out of this 12 string is. I sold a 654ce as it was just not giving me the fullness that I was looking for on stage with the electrics. Mind you, the 654ce is a gorgeous sounding 12 string, but my ear wanted more chime. I happened to see Brian Ray (guitarist for McCartney) and Tommy Shaw playing a 655ce and decided to go out and try one. Problem was, trying to find a GC or any store that carried this model as they are not frequently called for the stores tell me. Then finally, I found one. The sound without amplification is truly inspiring. Put it with a good acoustic amp, (the store had a Genz-Benz/Fender/Roland) and what a "totally amazing" wet your pants sound. I knew the price would hurt the pocket book, but I had money from the sale and Taylor now has a 12 free interest program going. If you are looking for a 12 string with gusto, try this one out for sure. The quilted maple back and sides are gorgeous and what can you say about the comfort of the Taylor designed necks and fret boards. Second to none in my humble opinion.
