OVERVIEW

The perfect blend of swinging style and singing sustain.

Based on a classic Florentine cutaway design, The Loar LH-280 offers players classic archtop style in a versatile electric guitar.

With a maple top, maple back and sides and two custom-wound Loar humbuckers, the LH-280 is a perfect jazz-blues-rock machine. The 24-3/4" scale will be familiar to players of vintage electrics, and the 1-3/4" bone nut and tune-o-matic floating bridge give it powerful punch and singing sustain.

Bridging the gap between jazz, rock, and blues, this versatile archtop from The Loar does it all; smooth clean tones alternate with heavy crunch all packed in a classy tuxedo of a guitar. Case sold separately.

Comments about The Loar LH-280-C Archtop Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

I couldn't be happier owning this guitar. I bought the Vintage Sunburst. Wow!!! Stunning!! The pics do not do this guitar justice. It is absolutely beautiful. I play it through an Orange Crush 35rt on stage. I'm just a rhythm player, it has perfect tone for the music we play,(rock, blues, red dirt). It's also loud enough unplugged to play it acoustically. Although this is the first hollowbody I've owned, I now leave the Les Paul at home collecting dust.

Comments about The Loar LH-280-C Archtop Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

Solid as a rock, and mine is top craftsmanship. Already own enough light string solids and semi's, & played sweet with arrival 11/ 52's ,BUT I swapped 280 (my Big Betty) to 13/56's just because and this body and neck handle big-guage no issue, and with full-body pickups, give a real Roanoke Rockabilly raging tang perfect for tripping on Mystery Train.
Settings? Bridge pickup only- Hot with more shrill than I had ever expected. Next; dark and moody on 'neck' only, and Scotty's Elvis sessions when blending both PU's.
Country jazz? George Barnes had that Guild, but this The Loar does near perfect "Theme From The Flintstones" just like his quartet version. Amazing action, even with heavies, not a single high fret, better bridge than my Gibson. Gets raves every time I lend it round and she's a full-bodied curvatious beauty! Far beyond what i was ready to settle for when I ordered it never having seen or played one. Much sweeter amped than my cherished Gibson ES-150 and I bought for nearly 1/7th the cost of an ES today. Thanks MF. Congrats to The Loar for 280. An added toy, a pride & joy, and a deal so coy even if it had been triple the price I paid. Everytime playing my favorite George Barnes lick (Google George & Flintstone theme ) on my 280 Big Betty, I have to yell out "Yabba Dabba Doo". Don't think twice, this git is REALLY NICE!

Comments about The Loar LH-280-C Archtop Hollowbody Electric Guitar:

This is just an awesome guitar. One of the best I ever heard right out of the box! The pickups sound perfect. The fit and finish is good and the guitar is beautiful to behold. Only needed a slight bridge adjustment after tuning. Frets are well finished with no high spots or sharp fret edges. My only slight complaint is that the frets are pretty small but for this type of guitar they do the job and I have no problems fretting the strings or forming chords. In fact, it plays really easy. I own over 30 guitars and this one is right at the top for looks and sound!
