Comments about Traveler Guitar EG-1 Vintage Electric Guitar:

I needed a good practice guitar that I can travel with or play quietly in the middle of the night, and this fits the bill. The guitar (string and fingerboard wise) is full size. The body is small making the guitar look like a Guitar Hero guitar for Xbox, but it is a real guitar. It takes some time getting used to the smaller body, as the location of the headphone jack is close to where you support the guitar on your thigh. This Guitar is not a Stratocaster or Les Paul. The action may be a tad high for some. It has one humbucker pick up, so not that much tone flexibility. The EG-2 has two single pick ups, but in both cases that is still less than the tow humbuckers on a Les Paul or the three Singles on a Startocaster. The built in amp works with the headphones and has two settings: 1) Clean and 2) Distorted. The distortion setting may fall short of the expectations of many, but the built in amp is for practice on the go and not sound effects. I paired it with the Yamaha THR5 practice amp, and got a lot more fun sounds from this small guitar. My greatest joy is practicing in the middle of the night without getting complaints from the neighbors or my wife. Also, Kudos to Musician's Friend - they offered this guitar as an open box item in mint condition and it was as good as new (even the box was in mint condition).

Comments about Traveler Guitar EG-1 Vintage Electric Guitar:

I bought this EG-1 travel guitar from Musicians Friend a few weeks ago to carry in my 27 ft. motorhome on vacation and camping trips. Space is very limited in a RV so I thought this would be a great improvement over full size guitars and cases. I haven't had a chance to travel yet but I have been playing it at home and running it through its paces. It plays and sounds good through my home amp and I like the headphone option for practicing late a night when my wife is sleeping. It is a adjustment to play a guitar with a shorter format and missing a headstock, but it also is fun to learn to do something different than the norm. I have had tuning issues with it but I think that can be resolved with a set of locking tuners that is available from the company. So far, I am pleased with my purchase.

I been looking for a travel type guitar for some time. Bought this in blem from MF and it's perfect. the finger board is very similar to my Les Paul Custom. Works well with my Shure ear buds and sounds ok through an amp. Excellent gig bag.

Comments about Traveler Guitar EG-1 Vintage Electric Guitar:

I'very been looking for a guitar to take with me on long trips, air travel, etc. Just couldn't make up my mind so I took a chance on this Traveler model blemished. Couldn't be more pleased. Set up out of box was spot on. Neck and raw tone very similar to my Les Paul Custom. Sounds just ok through my Shure ear buds, much better through my pedal board and amp. Plays great sitting or standing. Could probably use it with no problem on stage. Would look a little funny with that small body but the balance is good. Excellent gig bag. Perfect travel guitar.

Comments about Traveler Guitar EG-1 Vintage Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar because it had the exact same scale size as my Les Paul so no having to adjust my playing style. It even has the large block inlays like my lp. I keep this nearby in the living room so if I have a few minutes to play, I can-----without having to get out my large guitars and the amps etc. I keep headphones in the bag and just plug them in and I'm ready to rock. Great fun to play. Haven't traveled with it yet but the size is a big plus there too. Just a great little guitar to have along with my full sized ones.

Comments about Traveler Guitar EG-1 Vintage Electric Guitar:

This is my 3rd Traveler guitar. They are a little addictive. The price may seem a little high until you actually get one in your hands. They are well made. This guitar sounds great with the stock electronics. I like that it doesn't require a battery to work. It is comfortable to play and I often practice with it instead of one of my much more expensive guitars. Variety is the spice of life! String changes take a little getting used to but not difficult. Fretwork is good but could be better with a little help. Yes, I would buy another one.
