I own the black model, although my headstock is black too; it looks better that way, I think. Much better than candy apple red or dorky blue. Anyways, it was my first guitar I bought with me own $$$. It's been great so far for me. With two pickups and a humbucker, it can get a variety of sound, from blues to country to rock. Perhaps the worst thing about it would be the action. All of the strings are offset--some are 1/4" off the fretboard, while others are 1/8" from it--and the bottom and top E string likes to fret out a lot. This may be dur to the fact that the neck is slim compared to a Fender. But it's got a fast neck. Be sure to adjust the action, replace the stock strings, and maybe modify or change the pickups or humbucker to your taste the second you own it. And for the picky ones, a pickguard :). Also, don't use a tremolo bar, until you replace the bridge, which seems very flimsy.Overall, it is a great guitar and sounds very nice when amped. I've grown to trust Washburn when makin' good budget guitars.

I bought this guitar 5 months ago and sence i bought it it sounded great for the price range. It has a horible paint job on it. It looks good but if you drop it or something the paint will chip thats what happend to mine. I picked it up and it slipped a little and hit the side of my bed and it chipped and cracked the paint and wood. I would not recomend this guitar for someone who plays the guitar a lot. It sounds good but the paint is not good. I bought the black version of it. I would recomend saving up for an epiphone les paul or sg. They have amazing paint jobs and sound 100 times better than the washburn. If you want a good strat. guitar I recomend saving up for a fender fat strat. My friend in my band has a fender fat strat. and it sounds and plays amazing. 100 times better than my washburn x10 so I dont recomend this guitar.

Comments about Washburn X10 Electric Guitar:

This was my first guitar. Purchased it back in 2001, when I used to live in Singapore. Paired it with a Randall practice amp and the tones were pretty sweet. The pickups were great and the single coils really put out an excellent clean tone. It was durable. I traveled the world with my Washburn. After over 60 plane trips, it looked and performed amazingly. I took very poor care of it. Rarely changed strings and never cleaned it. It went from one humid environment to a dry environment to a hot or cold environment every few hours of its life, and the neck never warped!
It's been 15 years and I still play her every now and then. Always a good time :)

Comments about Washburn X10 Electric Guitar:

I got this as my first 'good' guitar and I love it but I hate the bridge. I don't think of myself as an excessively agressive player but I break strings left and right...even a .56 E string. Also, don't play your drummer's crashes with the headstock!

Comments about Washburn X10 Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar over two years ago, and it still plays very well. The only thing I would suggest is to maybe replace the humbucker. I put a seymour duncan sh6 distortion in ine, and now it sounds amazing. I only have to tune mine like one a week, it stays in tune so well. The action might need to be adjusted when you first buy it, but other than that this guitar is amazing. this is the perfect guitar for beginners, I'd buy it over squier or epiphone. If you're new to playing and are looking for something cheap, buy this now!

My dad gave i to me for my 14th birthday, I didnt know how to play the guitar, let alone know the difference between brands. I self taught myself, so I am no professional, but, to start out, wow!, much better than a fender squire and cheaper too, it has hundreds of combinations due to having 2 pickups and a humbucker, the only porblem might me the paint, qhich if you hit a lot will come of, but the wooden body will not break, my guitar has fallen like 15 times, and the only thing that is wrng is the the corner paint, higly recommend it to start playing

Comments about Washburn X10 Electric Guitar:

I got this as my first electric guitar, and have not regretted it! It took me a while to find an electric, but I found this one and was very happy with it. The neck is AMAZING and very fast, good for riffs. The pickups are also pretty good for stock pickups. This guitar is good for ANY type of music too! It does awesome in Drop D and low tuning, great for metal. This guitar even sounds pretty decent playing clean. I did customize it, lowered the action and gave it a different paint job. Overall this is an awesome guitar, beginner or intermediate, and should be at a higher price. Buy this, you won't regret it!

Comments about Washburn X10 Electric Guitar:

I have owned this particular guitar for about 8 months, and i've gotta say it is excellent. early on, it had some minor tuning problems, some fret buzz(had to be fixed TWICE, although both minor cases on 1 or 2 frets.), and a problem with raising or lowering the action. after those were fixed, it played like a dream. the wasburn x10 is easily the best guitar in the price range by a longshot. versatile- can get any tone you want, and the neck isn't painted so its much faster, and in my opinion, more comfortable. i don't see any need to change the pups. I haven't changed my strings once, so i have more tuning problems, and thats to be expected. the paint won't chip as long as you take care of it(i.e. get a case or gig bag).all in all, a great guitar. washburn is great, and their quality can't be beat, or even touched, in this price range.

Comments about Washburn X10 Electric Guitar:

I own one of these wondefull washburn guitars, along with 3 other washburns. Let me tell you, anything they make is of great quality, even the Lyon and Oscar Schmidt branches. This exact guitar, the washburn X10, is the best budget or beginners guitar I've seen out there. It has great playability, with a full 2 octave neck. The fretwork is nice, the electronics are done well and sturdy. The trem isn't the best, but no trem is ever all that great unless you've got a floyd rose. Overall I find this to be a great beginner, budget, or project guitar. Its cheap, durable, and plays wonderfully. And if you're wanting to go for something similar but more expencive, you should just skip looking farther because this is the best in my opinion.

I recieved this guitar a few years ago as a gift and still frequently return to it. Ive been playing for almost 4 years and this is my go to axe for low tuning and metal. I love the balance of this guitar for things with overdrive however it doesnt clean up to well.Pros- Really fast neck, nice polished frets (24), sturdy construction, nice finish (I got a rare dark cherry wood/wine color),Cons- Tremolo system detunes frequently, hard to get a pure clean, input jack is a little loose, a personal grievance my pickup selector (blade style) had the tip break off after a few months.

this guitar is ok for its price range i guess, but i would definatly not get it again, i bought it from my friend while mine was getting fixed, and i hate it, all you can hear is feedback, the top 2 pickups totally died out on me, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to solo on, so just save your money, but if this is free, thats the only way id take it again, im just using it now while im waiting for my ltd m-200fm to ship.

    Great Guitar for the Money

Comments about Washburn X10 Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar as a gift in Nov. of 2005 after I had to sell my Jackson. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this guitar. The neck is fast not "fat". Not clumsy as other entry level guitars are. The fretting is of a quality of much more expensive guitars and the neck was set-up great from the factory.Tuners were another nice surprise as they do the job well. Unless you desire a custom guitar, the pick-ups on this were a great choice and very versatile. Not the most hot, but if you play a variety of styles, this will get the job done, from blues to jazz to rock & roll. The five-way switching is another nice component and helps with the versatility. In the second position, it has a great contemporary country sound, and down in the humbucker position you can kick out a nice crisp and tight distortion or fuzz for blues or rock.I feel confident enough about this guitar that I would take it on stage. Yes, I know it's an entry level guitar, but it is built like an axe costing much more. Feels as nice as my "neck-thru" Jackson SL1 and is just as fast! For the money, this is probably the best "entry level" guitar out there. When I can afford to upgrade, I will be looking at Washburn. I'll have a hard time "upgrading" though, because this guitar is that nice!

Comments about Washburn X10 Electric Guitar:

I hate this guitar because it doesn't sound very good and it's paint on it is awful. if you even tap it on something then the paint will either scratch really bad or chip. Everybody I know with a Washburn says that the paint isn't good. If your a beginner I would recommend getting an Epiphone, Fender, or even a squier. I have made 2 mistakes wasting money. First I bought a Lyon (by Washburn) guitar and it pretty much fell apart on me so I traded up for this Washburn and another big mistake it pretty much fell apart on me to. So now I'm saving for a $400 Fender or Epiphone. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS!!!
