Don't Forget

Rich low end with quick response in the most traditional acoustic design.

Part of Yamaha's L Series, the LL16DR features intricate abalone inlay work around the body, head and soundhole. Being reminiscent of L36 series, LL16D offers both luxurious look and excellent tone. A newly designed bracing pattern and A.R.E. treatment create rich warmth and open resonance while maintaining excellent tone balance. In addition, a new comfortable neck profile and Yamaha's Zero impact pickup ensure you a stress-free performance on stage.

A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement)
A.R.E. is an original wood reforming technology developed by Yamaha. Through precise control of temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, the molecular properties of the wood can be manipulated into a more acoustically ideal condition, similar to the molecular characteristics of woods in instruments that have been played for years.

New Designed Bracing Pattern
A modified non-scalloped bracing design retains the L series' characteristic bright tone while enhancing low-end tone.

High Comfortable Traditional Neck Profile
A reevaluation of string spacing, string height, fingerboard binding, and neck taper led to a new neck shape that better fits today's traditional players. The new design offers stable grip and smooth playability over the full length of the neck.

5-Ply Necks
The 5-ply neck of mahogany and rosewood designed with a volute at the headstock plus a double action adjustable rod creates a neck with excellent strength and stability.

SRT Zero Impact Pickups
The SRT Zero Impact Pickup system is a newly developed passive type pickup configuration designed to minimize the pickup's impact on the tone and traditional appearance of the instrument. The system utilizes individual piezoelectric elements for each string to faithfully reproduce the dynamic sound of the L Series and give the instrument outstanding presence when playing in a band.

Comments about Yamaha LL16DR L Series Solid Rosewood/Spruce Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I thought this would be a good guitar to get since it was Yamaha and a solid brand name. The guitar is like something you can find anywhere else in the three to four hundred buck price range. They do throw in a flimsy hard shell case that the hinges will come off of in a few months I am sure. This is an overpriced Piece of Junk and I can not believe this is considered and sold as a thousand buck guitar.

Comments about Yamaha LL16DR L Series Solid Rosewood/Spruce Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was on, what felt like, an endless search for a new guitar. I knew I wanted solid wood and something that sounded great. Every musican knows that this is not an easy thing to find, not even in a $5000+ guitar. There always seems to be a tradeoff in one facet or other.

In the past year, I was on the search for "that" guitar. Playing every instrument I saw, buying and returning many online purchases. In search of my best and last acoustic guitar, with cost being of no issue.

Enter the Yamaha LL16DR. The finish and extensive abalone adornment, were some of the first things that drew me to this guitar. I have never been a huge Yamaha fan, because history had branded it a low to midrange purchase, at best... Something I was uninterested in obtaining, as I needed something that would sound astonishing, both studio and stage. One of the guitar techs here at Musicians Friend had mentioned this guitar, knowing what I was looking for, months prior. Though, after months of trying Taylors and Martins wihout success, frustration dictated it was time to give this one a shot.

This guitar is, in a word, amazing! From the flawless finish and shimmering diamond-like abalone detailing, the custom hard shell case which would protect it from a nuclear holocaust and sound that would take any other new guitar 20-30 years to obtain. When Yamaha talks up its A.R.E. technology, they arent using buzzwords to sell the instrument. It truly sounds like it has been played and broken in for dozens of years. The sound coming out of this guitar is nothing short of perfection. From the lows which are boomy but tight, to the mids that are clear and concise, to the highs which seem to roll off before any tinniness kicks in. Its no wonder Yamaha included a pickup without an EQ. You truly dont need it, It sounds that good out of the box! Tuners are 18:1, which tune in a turn and stay in tune.

Ive never been this impressed with a guitar. Its definitely worth triple its cost and sounds astonishing!
