Primary System

The Dreadbox Primary System comprises five Dreadbox modules installed into its custom case, which itself is equipped with several favorable attributes. The Dreadbox Modular Case is solidly built and will look very nice in your studio, and it supplies conditioned power to each of the modules it houses. 16 patch cables are included.

Omnikron Module
The Omikron features two independent multi-waveform oscillators with coarse and fine-tuning controls, pulse width modulation and two Control Voltage inputs. It features separate outs for each of its four waveshapes: sine, triangle, saw and square (pulse). The two oscillators can be synced and the left panel supplies further routing options.

Any audio source can be fed into the audio interface panel, which additionally features a sub wave generator, audio to gate generator and audio sync converter. These three signals are presented at different output, each of which is controllable by two pots and a level trimmer. It is a rich and complex tone generator with processing that inspires creativity, and a great way to start your Dreadbox modular system.

Alpha Module
The Alpha module is critical if you wish to control your Dreadbox system via MIDI, whether from a keyboard in live contexts or reading sequencer information via your DAW. The Alpha module has one of the most accurate and reliable MIDI to CV/Gate converters ever produced, along with two 4-stage envelope generators. It also offers a single gate trigger and two pitch volt/octave CV inputs with independent glide.

Delta Module
The Delta module features two parallel delays, each with its own mix, delay time offset and feedback controls. A master delay time knob in the center gives you fast, hands-on control, while individual wet-only outputs and CV inputs let you modulate delay times. Chorus and flanging is easily managed through the CVs.

Lamda Module
The Lamda module is an 8-pole (48dB/octave) state variable filter with 2-pole low-pass and 4-pole high-pass modes. One particularly cool aspect of the Lamda is that you can tune resonant peaks above or below the first with the Post Cut control. Put your fine-tuning skills to work in uncovering some of the most heart-stopping synth leads you’ve ever heard.

Theta Module
The Theta is a dual LFO, noise and sample-and-hold module. It won’t receive the oohs and aahs and abject adulation that the tone generators or filters in the system will, but it provides essential sonic characteristics for covering a lot of sacred analog bround. The LFOs are each capable of outputting eother triangle or square waveforms, with a frequency range from 0.04 to 50Hz. It is additionally a source of white noise and it includes a clock pulse generator, both of which pass through a sample and hold generator.
