I just bought this thing and it is amazing! I can run around go outside or even go in my basement and still here from my top floor. This is great i use a fender strat and fender frontman amp(its kinda small)and a zakk wylde distortion pedal i havnt tried it with my sg yet but i'm sure it will rock on that too probably more. This wireless system also has a great price so get it while you can.
I had a gig last night, and let me tell you, I was about 100' from the stage at some points, a little delay but thats normal and most likely because of the speed of sound. I love this thing!
The KR-4 can NOT be used in the L.A. area without interference from local TV station 60. I didn't find this out until after I got the system, had a major interference problem, and spoke to AKG tech support. Before the purchase, the Musician's Friend sales rep could NOT tell me what the difference was between the 4 models, and tech support had NO info on the L.A. area interference. As soon as the AKG tech heard I was in L.A, he told me about the interference, and said either the US54 or US58 would have no problem. This is AKG's fault for not letting it's dealers know about this. If you live elsewhere, check with AKG BEFORE you buy so you get the right frequency. Musician's Friend Customer Support is taking care of me with an exchange, but I would have saved the hassle if I had known.
I just bought this system and it is crazy awsome! I plugged it in on the first day, (the setup is insanely easy BTW), and ran down the street for two blocks and it was still clear! It finally cut out after 2 and 1/2 blocks, but that is way more than enough distance for anyone! For 130, you can't go wrong!
I would rate it a perfect 10, but there is always room for improvement. It sounds great in my church. No cutouts or interference. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.
i got this for Christmas. its awsome! my amp and recever was in my garage and i walked down the street5 houses away and it was still working! i play bass and guitar at my church, i've used the wireless with both and it works great! no cracking when i move like the cheap NADY systems. its a really an awsome system. if your looking for a pritty chep one get this, NOT A NADY! im so happy i got it and you will be two!!!
I play banjo in a small club and bought this to free me up to walk around the stage. I tried it out last night and walked all over the club and it worked perfectly with my Fishman pickup. I play it thru a cheap 30W 'Drive' amp with a little echo and mike the amp for monitors for the rest of the band. The thing worked like a charm and I bought it as a blem on discount.
I bought this about a month ago, because my group had downgraded from five members to three, and I wanted something to help our stage presence. I found this unit online, looking through different wireless units, and it had gotten excellent reviews, so I gave it a shot. It has proven to be an excellent investment. It is very easy to set up, nothing complicated, and it sounds great. I set my amp up in my church sanctuary, and I could walk out the back and down the hallway without it cutting out. I do have one complaint though. The unit that you connect to your guitar runs on 2 AA batteries, but it doesn't have a constant light that stays on when you have the pack on. So, it's really easy to forget to turn off the pocket pack and kill your batteries. In addition, there is a little bit of extra noise when you really pump the gain and grunge, but that's not really hearable unless you switch really quickly between a good cable and the unit, and even then, it's hard to pick out. Overall, I highly recommend this unit.
Just got this wireless and it performs excellent!!! Bought it mainly because I own the AKG WMS40 wireless for my mic and am so happy with it. It did not disappoint me at all. Both of my AKG wireless systems work well with no static or cutout. I can walk outside about a block away with our PA system in our studio and clear sound. What a buy for the $$$
Overall, this wireless system is a very nice system. I set it up in my room on the second story and went downstairs and outside into the front yard. My bass was easily heard. :) so far after a couple of months , I have found no problems w/ this system, except that the side plates are very annoying to put on when you take the thing out of the box, because the plastic isnt threaded for the screws.
I have to say that this product is awesome, but I
I got this system recently and I've been loving it. There's no interference to affect your sound whatsoever, at least, I haven't noticed any, even with my PA system going full tilt. Something I noticed immediately when using this system is that it actually eliminates some of the higher frequency pick scratch and buzz, making for a much cleaner sound. It also seems to add a little more bottom end, but this may be an illusion due to the absense of the higher frequencies. All in all, I like the way my guitar sounds using this system more than using a cord. A concern that I had when I bought this system was that it would reduce the amount of drive I'd be able to get from my blues junior as well as reduce the response. This is not an issue at all. The drive levels are exactly the same, as well as the response as I play. As my rig is set up in my basement, there's a lot of spots where the signal gets cut off, but that's because of the large amount of large metal objects down there(shelving, gun safes, etc.) which cause UHF frequencies to lose their signal. However, despite that I am able to get a signal in my room, two levels up from where the receiver is located. I imagine that there would be no problem getting a long range signal if there were no large metallic obstructions. If I stand close to the receiver with no obstructions the connection is perfect. In conclusion, this has been a great system so far. It has good range, great sound, and it's very affordable. I recommend it to anyone who is looking to go wireless for an affordable price.
After having nothing but trouble with other name brand wireless systems I decided to try an AKG. I was a little skepticle because of the price. I am very impressed to say the least! We played a large club and I was all over the place with absolutely no dropouts or excess noise. I run this through a 100 watt Crate head with a Behringer Slant 4x12 with DOD effects. Also no feedback noise what so ever. I would purchase a padded case as the reciever is plastic.
I just received this is the mail and had it working perfectly in about 10 minutes. It is extremely simple to set up and use. Absolutely no interference or cut-out. The unit itself is not very heavy or elaborate, but it the feels like it will last for a while. Very good product for the money!
I got this for christmas and plugged it in and it worked great. My studio is only 20x24 but there are no dead spots. No loss of tone or volume. I purshased the neotech pouch and it positions the reciever just the way I like it. Good first time wireless!
I don't have any complaints other than the cable seems a little cheap. But other than that this is an awesome buy. I get great range and don't lose any clarity. I've been looking at these for a while and some can be very expensive. This is a great buy and a great value.
I recently sat in with my Son's Band.Every one there was wireless, I wanted a wireless system but didn't want to spend a huge amount, after reading some of the review's about the AKG-DW1000 -UG58 system I bought it. I'm very impressed with the quality; for the price you can't beat it.
I have owed this wireless set up for about 4 month and several gig's later I'm happy. no drop out's, no interference, no delays. Good buy!!!
Bought this for my son, he tends to trip over his cables. Plays in local rock/punk band in high school. The setup was easy, he was playing in five minutes. Has great sound, very little loss on both his bass and with his strat on a spyder amp. He sits on one side of the basement practicing along with Cd's and DVD's with the amps at the far other end, and in the week he's had it, ZERO dropout. He is a very happy rocker!
I just got one of these for Christmas and its great! Nice and simple. The reveiver feels a little cheap, but the body pack is rock solid. If you're like me, simple is better and it doesn't get more simple than this. The range is outstanding! I'm never using a cable ever again. The cable that comes with this seems pretty cheap but overall this system is excellent and has great value.
