Comments about BLUE Encore 200 Studio Grade Phantom Powered Active Dynamic Microphone:
I've always used SM-58s for vocals which is still what I'm using now. I had an earlier version of the Blue Encore which was stolen along with my Godin Montreal :( Anyway, this mic is (hands down) the best vocal mic I've ever had. I can't say the newer versions are as good or better but the one I owned was unbelievable. The highs seemed to resonate more but not in a ESSEY way. I was very proud of my mic and equally as disgusted when it was taken from me.

Comments about BLUE Encore 200 Studio Grade Phantom Powered Active Dynamic Microphone:
I'm not a great singer, but I perform in bands and more often in a duo where I play guitar and sing lead and harmonize. I've used various other mics over the years and finally realized that a phantom powered, dynamic mic works best for me. I was using an EV (I can't recall the model, but it's basically in the same price range as this Blue) for a while and liked it, but then tried this Blue and I don't feel that I need to look for another mic.
I feel like I can hear myself better, and can back off the mic a bit and my vocals come through with excellent presence & warmth. I've got no complaints. I play guitar while singing so my mic is always in a stand - there can be handling noise with this mic if you hold it while performing. For me this isn't an issue.

Comments about BLUE Encore 200 Studio Grade Phantom Powered Active Dynamic Microphone:
Side by side comparison with a Shure Beta 57A, these microphones produced a very warm mid frequency response while maintaining a clear and open top end. The bottom end response is what you would expect from a handheld dynamic. This mic is a sure-fire buy and does hold its own against pricier condenser handheld microphones. You won't be disappointed with this purchase. However, don't buy this microphone and expect it to perform like a top-tier condenser handheld from Neumann or Telefunken. Compared to a Shure, Heil, AKG, Audio-Technica, Audix, sE Electronics, & Sennheiser this mic will please your ears.

Comments about BLUE Encore 200 Studio Grade Phantom Powered Active Dynamic Microphone:
I have been trying out a few mic's with the different bands I perform with. Shure, AKG, EV, & Alto to name a few and so far to date these are the best sounding mic's I've come across. Awesome clear sound for both Male & Female singers. Backup & Lead vocals. Very durable, and they look and sound great.
