I owned a Passport P-250 for 5 years and was very happy with its quality and the ease of making settings to acheive a rich quality sound with my solo voice and acoustic guitar with internal pickup(Martin D40). However I often found the P250 to be bulky and heavy for casual use.I sold the P250 to purchase the PD150 Plus because I thought the newer speaker design would make up for the smaller size. I found this not to be the case. The sound quality reflects the unit's smaller size. I am also finding it difficult to set the controls to make my sound acceptable. On the P250, my settings were usually all at the midpoint. Many of my PD150 settings are extreme in one direction or the other while attempting to "mellow" the treble and bring out the bass.On a more positive note, while I did not seek to purchase the "plus," model with the CD player, it was the only one available when I needed a system. I discovered that I really like it. I can put in a CD and play and sing along almost like a very high quality Karoke machine. While I highly recommend the Fender Passport line, I caution a buyer to listen to the systems and compare the sound before selecting the 150 over the 250 size.
I love this piece of equipment, it is a guitar amp for me! I plug my podxt into it in stereo, and it is totally awesome! It allows me to write music using sound effects I could not find in a small amp! The sound is very clear!
