I do an acoustic solo act - mostly sing-alongs at churches and senior centers. I had been using two ROGUE 40 watt stereo chorus guitar amps. One for guitar - one for mic. There was not enough power, and the sound was muddy... I had been looking at acoustic amps and reviewing them for months.I decided to look towards a PA system, because that is exactly what an acoustic amp is. The Phonic Powerpod 620Plus /S712 PA Package has more power, clear sound, great sounding effects, and in my opinion, beats all acoustic amps in this price range. The microphone is plenty good. The speaker wires are OK,but will be much better after I replace the plastic phone-jack plugs with metal ones. The only downside I see in this PA package is the weight. The powered mixer and each speaker weighs about 30 pounds, and it makes a bigger footprint than an acoustic amp. Even at that,I am very well pleased with my purchase... It's all good! Really,it is!

It is a small system that serves its purpose of what we purchased it for a 5 member group that play in an enclosed double car garage and it can get quite loud. The mics that we connect and the vocals come out fairly clear usually as long as it don't get too loud with bass, guitars and drums.
Its not as solid and powerful but serves its purpose for what we use it for.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S712 PA Package:
We've found that the key to great sound is to start with a good quality basic sound system. This is the real deal. Perfect system for soloist and / or small groups, escpecially if they are on a budget. Use it for the size venue it was built for and you won't be disappointed !!!!
This system has all the basic features you need to sound good. We travel almost full time in a southern gospel music ministry and this set up has all the channels, power and effects we needed. We run the S712 speakers for our mains and S710 speakers for our monitors. Very clean & clear sound in churches up to 500 seats and outdoors too.
We bought this system new in Nov 2010 and have used it absolutely problem free since.
We have a total of $500 invested in PA Head, Mains & Monitors have yet to find anything that sounds as good or works as well for less than $2000. We tried several systems and this is it !!!

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S712 PA Package:
Great product and great customer service. I worked with Emily who was very knowledgeable about all the products and answered all my questions before I purchased. I bought this pa system, a DVD duplicator, as well as a number of other products and all worked great right out of the box. The shipping was even faster than I expected two days and it was in my hands. The sound quality was great. I hooked a cd player into the system and the quality of the music was perfect. I use it for church services and outdoor events.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S712 PA Package:
Bought this to use for outside Jam sessions, open mic nights at local establishment and have used for outdoor wedding with my E piano. Sound is very good, alot of preset options, clear volume was way more than expected. Have had no problems what so ever. For the price this is a no brainer.
Comments about Powerpod 620 Plus / S712 PA Package:
I bought this to do small music venues, plus some m/cing. I was just asked to fill in as a rodeo announcer for a small town rodeo, and I was afraid the system wouldn't be big enough. It was. Everything worked fine. I was able to play the rodeo music from a playlist on my laptopas i was announcing the rodeo, and spectators and contestants all heard me fine. Great system for the money, but you might want to upgrade the microphone.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S712 PA Package:
As a former Professional Sounds and Lighting person, this is a good purchase for the money. Haven't picked up any ground loop humm. Effects are good. EQ is solid, I have been able to pull out resonance with it and feedback. Cables are cheap but if you are careful they will work fine. It's not high end equipment but I added an Old sub and Amp I have with it and it sounds really solid to the average listener.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S712 PA Package:
Most of my recent past history with sound systems has been with the CARVIN 6 channel PA and speakers. They have been reliable and worked well. So far this PHONIC system, seems quite similar and I have had good results with it at a price about 1/2 of the Carvin system. Time will tell on it's reliability and durability, but I am hoping it is going to be fine for my somewhat limited use.
Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S712 PA Package:
I've been using this PA for playing outside with my band and for driving the music at parties. So far it has proved highly reliable having survived 7 hours of continuous use on a hot day on one occasion. This system is perfect for practice or for amplifying a full band at a small to midsize venue. Seeing as the only large venues that wouldn't have a club system would be something like a big warehouse or an large outdoor stage, I have found no need to get anything larger by any means. The band I play with consists of synths, sax and vocals running through this system and balance against guitar, bass and drums. It can hold its own despite the loudness involved from a hard hitting drummer and a gain happy marshall tube amp. The sound quality is good as well with plenty of headroom for smaller to midsize venues. My only gripes are the lack of 3 band equalization on the individual channels, the need to buy better speaker cables, and the relative uselessness of the built in effects. However, you only get what you pay for and this PA is a great value despite these missing extras. I'd recommend it to anyone as a practice PA as well as to people that typically only have need for a PA when playing bars, parties, and the rare club that doesn't have a house system.
Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S712 PA Package:
i play in a grindcore band out of kentucky and i have owned this pa for a year now. I have had only two problems the mic is junk and so are the speaker cables. I bought some when i read other reviews about it i mean i bought them with the pa i even tried using the ones that come with it but they broke. but this is a great pa 200 watts is loud enough to hear over drums and a half stack. anyway kids buy this pa.
Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S712 PA Package:
I bought this from Musiciansfriend, because I kept having problems with my Kustom Profile One system. I use it for performing classical music, for practice in my basement and at times for small gigs with the band. The workmanship is not perfect, but so far nothing that impacts performance. The sound is ok. I use a bass amp as subwoofer and the speakers of my old Kustom Profile One . There is a bit of noise from the fan and sometimes when the volume is loud. In summary, great value for the price.
Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S712 PA Package:
I was looking for a nice little pa system for basement jams with buddies. I also picked up the Simmons sdmk4 drum pads to plug into the pa. Well all I can say is this thing does the trick. Has plenty of volume. The mic works great. The cords are on the cheaper end, but will upgrade later. The 12" speakers carry the drums very nice so I don't have to keep up with a loud acoustic set. I don't know that I'd play a large gig with it, but for 20-80 people it would definately hold its own.

Comments about Phonic Powerpod 620 Plus / S712 PA Package:
Purchased this PA system for use as a DJ system for small family parties. Does the job well. Icluded microphone was DOA, but MF promptly replaced with an upgrade. As other reviewers have mentioned the speaker cables are garbage, if you purchase go ahead and replace these immediately. Tried running a Fender Strat directly into PA - bad quality - but of course who would actually believe that a cheap-o PA could come close to the sound of a real amp. For a small PA system overall you get a lot of bang for the buck with this system.
