OVERVIEW

Audio interface and studio command center combo, with pristine audio up to 192 kHz.

The PreSonus Studio 192 Mobile USB 3.0 audio interface delivers exceptional sonic fidelity, flexible connectivity, and professional monitoring and mixing controls in a compact desktop design. Whether you’re a producer, an audio engineer, an independent band, a sound designer, or all of the above, your Studio 192 Mobile was built for you to create.

An integrated solution
The Studio 192 Mobile provides an integrated, portable, hardware and software solution for recording in personal and professional studios wherever they may be. Switch between any two mixes using the Cue function and the onboard headphone amp. Software-controlled Dim and Mono options let you take control of your main mix. Use the six balanced outputs for monitor mixing or speaker switching, or both, depending on how you work. With its flexible software and abundant I/O, the Studio 192 Mobile fits into any recording and production environment.

Superior sound
Connect a Studio 192 Mobile and you’ll instantly hear details and an open high end you expect from a professional studio front end. The Studio 192 Mobile operates at up to 192 kHz for ultra-high-definition mixing and recording. High-quality Burr-Brown converters on every input and output provide 118 dB of dynamic range to capture complex musical harmonics smoothly and naturally with no audible distortion. And our recallable XMAX™ microphone preamps deliver incredibly high headroom, deep lows, smooth highs, and a rich overall sound so you’ll hear every breath, transient, and detail in your recordings.

The Studio One in Studio 192 Mobile
With the Studio 192 Mobile, your audio interface is an integrated extension of your recording environment. Launch Studio One 3, and you’ll find full preamp control and zero-latency monitor-mix functions integrated into your recording environment. Our hybrid Fat Channel plug-in runs on the Studio 192’s DSP and in Studio One on your computer so you can record and monitor with Studio 192-based processing and seamlessly switch to the Studio One Fat Channel for playback. Need to track away from your computer? Launch Studio One Remote on your iPad®.

Remote control with UC Surface, too
The Studio 192 Mobile’s onboard features can also be controlled in PreSonus’ free UC Surface control software, so even if you use third-party recording software, you can remotely access them. UC Surface has rapidly won accolades for an intuitive mixing interface that provides quick access to everything you need to create quality monitor mixes.

Studio Magic Plug-in Suite Included
Both new and existing registered owners of any currently available PreSonus audio interface or mixer are receiving a free bonus: the Studio Magic Plug-in Suite for Mac and Windows. The software bundle includes seven popular plug-ins in VST, AU, and AAX formats. Currently eligible interfaces and mixers include the PreSonus AudioBox USB, AudioBox i-series, and Studio-series interfaces and StudioLive Series III, StudioLive AR USB, and StudioLive RML-series mixers. The software will be automatically added to registered users’ online MyPreSonus accounts and can be downloaded at any time—even if they bought the eligible PreSonus interface or mixer years ago. The suite includes: SPL Attacker, Maag Audio EQ2, Lexicon MPX-i Reverb, Eventide H910, Eventide 2016 Stereo Room, Brainworx bx Opto Compressor and Arturia's Analog Lab Lite.

Comments about PreSonus Studio 192 Mobile Audio Interface:

Because of a back order situation I've only had this unit for about a week now. I purchased the Studio 192 Mobile and a new PC to upgrade my home studio. Here are my initial thoughts. The unit looks and feels solid. No issues with quality. It installed very easy and detection by my DAW was immediate. This interface was designed with tight integration with Studio One 3 and the UC Surface mixer software that comes with it. Right now I am not using either of those programs. My DAW is Cubase and it works well with it just like my old PreSonus Firebox audio interface did.

At this time I don't use the SPDIF or ADAT lightpipe connections. The remaining inputs are very similar to what my old Firebox had. At this price point I do wish that these inputs were a little more configurable when it comes to accessing the (2) mic/instrument preamps. Meaning, I wish the connections on the back had access to the preamps too.

In addition to the main (2) outputs this unit has (4) more configurable outputs which does allow to send mixes to other monitors/speakers/headphones and such. This is nice feature.

Bottom line is I like the unit. It works well for my purposes as a home studio that records mostly my own music but, will periodically record (2) or (3) performers simultaneously too. It does have the capability to have many more inputs/outputs if using those SPDIF or ADAT lightpipe connections. It works with the lastest USB 3 connections and is backwards compatible with USB 2. The preamps are better quality than what was in my old Firebox interface. So that is a plus when it comes to having enough input power to kick up whatever you are recording. Also, remember it will record up to 192 kHz. I don't think I'll ever use it but... it is there if I need it. Last setup hint... if, like me, you are not going to use this unit with the Studio One 3 or UC Surface software, then just deactivate the UC Mixer and press the Cue button of the front of the unit to get going.

Comments about PreSonus Studio 192 Mobile Audio Interface:

The Studio 192 Mobile has replaced a set of 3 FP10's that I've used for years to record live. While I still use the FP10's daisy chained together in order to do live recording, the studio 192 has a MUCH smaller footprint on my desk and allows me to place things properly for mix down. I love that I can expand it to meet the needs of live recording however, the more channels you record, the smaller the sampling rate gets. There's always a debate about whether recording at 192 is any better than 44.1 as you have to dither down to 44.1 anyway. YES it is! You can utilize it for so much more than simple CD recording or MP3's. This is a fantastic little unit.

Comments about PreSonus Studio 192 Mobile Audio Interface:

Won't come out of sleep on my newish HP manufactured Windows 10 machine. Product support has been mostly unhelpful, things like "uninstall and reinstall" I've ben futzing with it when I come home from my day job (I'm a technichian for a college who maintains a few recording studios and PA systems for Drama, Dance, and Music Depts) for so long now that I'm probably outside my return window... Good Luck. I'll add images to this review later.
