Uncompromising build quality and pro-grade sound.

With proven performance and solid workmanship, the KW152 takes the next evolutionary step in wood enclosure loudspeakers. QSC engineers combined all the technical advancements of the K Series with a custom-designed, tour-grade Baltic birch cabinet for unmatched sound quality and durability that’s ready for the road.

Although smaller and lighter than previous wood enclosure models, the KW152 has power to spare and cranks out clean, tight sound at output levels that seem almost impossible for its size.

Under the hood you'll find an efficient Class-D power module that pumps out 1000 watts of clean, distortion-free sound with crisp highs and deep, punchy lows. With 60 degrees of coverage, the KW152's woofer drives low frequencies down to 43.7Hz making it ideal for a wide range of applications, particularly DJing and live reinforcement of instruments. Equally comfortable as a stage monitor, the KW152 enclosure has an angled side for use as a low-profile, horizontal wedge and a flat side for proper side-fill use.

Processing Technology

QSC incorporates several proprietary DSP technologies into the KW152, including Digital Extension and Excursion Processing (DEEP). DEEP allows the KW152 to deliver levels of low-frequency extension previously impossible in enclosures of this size. Another innovation is Intrinsic Correction, which uses dozens of spatially-averaged measurements mapped to the processor to deliver smooth and accurate reproduction across the entire sound field. Preventing amplifier clipping or overload is QSC's proprietary GuardRail technology, which monitors the input voltage and controls the amplifier output stage before the onset of clipping.

Connectivity & Monitoring

The back of the KW152 features two XLR-combi inputs, each with its own level control. Both accommodate line-level inputs and one may be switched to microphone level sensitivity. Phono (RCA) input jacks are also included for connection of consumer electronics sources. Dual XLR outputs are provided for dual "loop-thru" XLR/M connectors and a single XLR jack is available as a summed output. All three input sources may be used at once and mixed via the two gain control knobs. In addition, user EQ controls are provided to select between different subwoofer settings. For installed applications, connecting a commonly available potentiometer to the unit's Euroblock connector allows the operator to have gain control from a remote location. Multiple KW Series units can be daisy-chained together to one centralized control.

Suspension and Mounting

The KW152 may be pole-mounted, suspended, or yoke-mounted. The yoke accessory kit (not included) allows for either horizontal or vertical yoke mounting, providing a flexible means of attaching KW Series loudspeakers to a building structure or truss. When suspended deployment is required, M10 threaded inserts support vertical or horizontal suspension, while the integral pole-mount socket accommodates 35 mm speaker poles for use on a speaker stand or over a sub. The pole socket is designed so that the speaker may be angled down 7.5 degrees in order to cover the audience while keeping acoustic energy off reflective walls and ceilings.

Comments about QSC KW152 Active Loudspeaker 1000 Watt 15 Inch 2 Way:

I needed a road ready speaker that had the low end of a subwoofer and the highs to push through a crowd and the KW152 was it. I was hesitant at first because of cost but the quality speaks for itself.

The past two years I was using Behringer speakers which sounded great, but were too heavy and bulky. I was using an 18" powered sub and 12" Eurolive cab. Downsizing to one speaker that essentially does the same as the sub cab combo was needed.

The one speaker is all I need as a one man band. I would say that if you have a full band, you'll want either two or at least one QSC sub to help propel your bassist and drummer. When I play, I use a homemade stomp box that essentially sounds like a kick drum and a club beat put together so I needed that low end that my previous sub had. With the "Deep" setting on this speaker, I got the perfect balance of low, middle, and high. I was concerned at first that the Deep setting might mess with the rest of the mix but there was no noticeable difference.

The angle tilt ability was great to have when I needed to raise the height of the speaker but still shoot the sound down onto an audience. The other options on the back I haven't utilized to full potential but it is nice knowing I have those options. As I was traveling around this past summer, I noticed many other groups using QSC speakers and we were all saying the same things regarding their sound quality, light weight, and durability.

Comments about QSC KW152 Active Loudspeaker 1000 Watt 15 Inch 2 Way:

Super powered speaker. I have been doing my research and have bought and returned the ZLX from Ev and got these. I returned these as well and got the k12s. Here's why. These are superior to many powered speakers but at low volumes they aren't as good as a smaller speaker. The angle is 60 degrees so more limited in the amount of spread as opposed to the k12s at 75 degrees. I found at low volumes they didn't sound that great and I had to boost the treble on my system to get the acoustic and vocals clear. At high volumes they can't be beat but the 60 degree spread was still tough in small rooms. Off to the side it sounds a lot different than right in front of course but the difference was huge. Outside they can't be beat. Beautiful sound and power to spare. They don't peak it seems like many powered speakers. I returned them as I was lifting them on a pole 3 nights a week, and even though they are listed at 64 pounds they seemed heavier. The handle is high on the side and stretching to get them on a pole was difficult. They are the biggest 15" cabinet in terms of height I have ever seen, the horn is huge perhaps thats why the cabinet is so tall. The k12 is still heavy but easier to lift due to the size and decreased weight. I found that the k12 has better clarity at low volumes and goes almost as loud when cranked, and gets almost as much bass response also. For the extra size and weight I found them to be almost the same exact performance as the k12. The bass response was not dramatically different.
They are too heavy for me and probably better suited to large bands and mounted/flying situations.
