A high-quality UHF wireless system that's very affordable!
If you're a vocalist who is serious about delivering energetic, great-sounding performances, the Vocal Artist UHF is the system for you.
Features an SM58 transmitter and Shure's exclusive MARCAD Diversity receiver with intelligent circuitry for the best possible performance. By combining audio signals from 2 independent receiver sections, dropout and switching noise are eliminated, while operating range is dramatically improved.
Shure's "battery-saver" technology provides up to twelve hours of battery life and operates in conjunction with 2 LED indicators: one for on/off and another to warn when battery life is low. A convenient mute switch delivers noiseless control of audio on/off functions, while Shure's noise squelch circuitry virtually eliminates noise bursts.
Consumer Alert:Most users do not need a license to operate this wireless microphone system. Nevertheless, operating this microphone system without a license is subject to certain restrictions: the system may not cause harmful interference; it must operate at a low power level (not in excess of 50 milliwatts); and it has no protection from interference received from any other device. Purchasers should also be aware that the FCC is currently evaluating use of wireless microphone systems, and these rules are subject to change. I think Shure has a killer mic here. I like the sound quality. This mic appears to help with feedback problems that I have had with other cheaper mics. Also the wireless quality is great. No interference whatsoever. One other nice feature that no one talks about is the automute when replacing batteries. No noise, even if you pull the battery from the transmitter.
This Wireless System Is The Best I've Ever Gotten. In My Ministry, The Pastor And I Are Singing At Two Nusering Homes. Not Including Church Services. And We Have Been Very Very Pleased With This System. I Would Recommend This System To Any Ministry And Or Church.
The second day I had the wireless, the mic got away from me and crashed to the floor. I picked it up and it continued to work flawlessly, albeit with a nice new dent in the windscreen.I've lived and worked with it (several times a week) for about 5 months and here's what I've found:Pros: Great sound quality. Once I got it set up I haven't had any trouble with reception - I use it for leading worship and preaching. It's tough - remember I mentioned the drop? It wasn't the only one (church mics live dangerously). What a convenience - no speaker cables to trip on!The UHF base works flawlessly.Cons:This thing eats a lot of batteries...The on / off control and the mute controls are too small, too indented in the mic - turning them on and off is a pain.Would I buy it again? If I could get the same sound and reliablity, with better controls and a smaller battery appetite, I'd look elsewhere. Otherwise, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
This SM-58 UHF wireless system is the best system you will find for its price and features. It has the well known SM-58 mic capsule, which sounds just as great as the wired version does. I purchased this system several months ago and have had no problems. I use it a few times a week, whether it be for singers or for announcing, it always performs flawlessly. Unlike some other manufacturer product descriptions out there, Shure tells the truth: 300' operating range, no drop out noise (very nice feature), and 12 hour battery life (assuming you bought a good battery). Overall, I was very impressed with this product and even more impressed with the price!
This is a great sounding microphone at a great price, but it has serious design flaws which surface during live performances. If you are very active with this mic while singing, you will inevitably cut off the power button or hit the mute button on the transmitter, because it's mounted on the body of the mic where you grip. Also, if you are gigging heavily like myself, you will wear out the 9 volt battery connection in no time. Also, the plastic body of the mic is not very durable and cracks. Plan on using lots of electrical tape and duc tape with this unit just to keep it functioning. I have purchased many of these systems because I like the sound of the mic, but the design should be improved to something not unlike the Sennheiser wireless mics (which I now own) that have a light-weight metal body construction, all of the switches are nicely placed on the bottom of the mic, and the 9 volt battery slides in like a cartridge with no cheesy pop-on connectors. Beautiful design. A little more expensive, but very much worth it.
