OVERVIEW

Thunderbolt 3 audio interface with 2 inputs and 2 outputs from Universal Audio.

With class-leading audio conversion, two Unison mic preamps and a suite of onboard Universal Audio plug-ins, the Arrow is an excellent desktop audio interface for mobile musicians, DJs and producers. Featuring the coveted converters from UA’s flagship Apollo line of interfaces, the Arrow converts analog recordings—from a line or microphone source—into studio-quality digital audio to any DAW. It then converts the digital audio, at the same studio-quality, back out through each of its 2 line outputs to any set of studio monitors, facilitating precise monitoring when mixing and editing.

The Arrow is compatible with both Windows and Mac computers and is the first interface in its class to be powered by Thunderbolt 3. This translates to near-zero latency recording and effects processing, regardless of your DAW’s buffer setting.

Featuring Universal Audio’s proprietary Unison technology to power the “Realtime Analog Classics” bundle of analog emulation plugins, Arrow can recreate the sound of classic preamps, microphones, EQs, compressors and more. It’s robust, all-metal construction and compact size make it an easy and reliable travel companion—fitting into a laptop bag—allowing you to record in almost any setting. With its exceptional recording capabilities and powerful plugin processing, the Arrow fulfills most, if not all, production needs.

The “Realtime Analog Classics” UAD Powered Plug-Ins Bundle Include:
● UA 610-B Tube Preamp and EQ
● Marshall® Plexi Classic Guitar Amp

Comments about Universal Audio Arrow Audio Interface:

Stunning sound. As a front end, it's pro - and remarkably ez to set up. The plugins are exceptional and authentic - I own a real 610, and the emulation is blindfold indistinguishable. You can get exceptional sonics just dropping a simple pre/comp on the channel. This is a very cost effective way to get world class tracking if you're working one-to-one. Super smart buttons & multipurpose knob.

Couple of caveats: unit makes some pops on power up - a bit annoying. No alternative power option, input expansion or usb-c pass through. Limited DSP. All minor quibbles.

This is really a breakthru box - under five hundred US gets you pres & compressors that sound and act like the real thing. If you work alone, it's a killer. If you have a decent computer with new thunderbolt, track with this, then let the computer do the heavy lifting for the mix - UA plugs work directly in the DAW, as long as the unit is connected. A great project studios solution.

Comments about Universal Audio Arrow Audio Interface:

It's great little product. The little poor single core is quickly overloaded. I also wish there was a way to run and mix with the plugins when the device is not connected (even at the expense of local cpu). that's the only reason i take away one star.

Comments about Universal Audio Arrow Audio Interface:

This is a huge improvement over my old Line 6 Tone-Port UX1. Works well with Ableton and has a great selection of plug-ins. Have only used it for practicing so far. I bought the ENGL and Fuchs amplifier plug ins and they are great. Can't wait to start recording! Only drawback is that I am using a Windows computer with Thunderbolt 3. It is two years old. I cannot find a decent new motherboard with Thunderbolt. I really don't want to buy an Apple, but will if I have to.
