Tech Tip:How To Change String Gauges and Adjust Your Guitar's Setup

As you practice and play your guitar more, you might find a reason to move to a different string gauge. When your guitar was set up (you do have your guitar set up sometimes, right?) it was dialed in for whatever gauge of strings you chose at that time. Switching to heavier or lighter strings than the ones used at your last setup will make the string height higher or lower. To correct this, you can adjust the bridge height to the new string gauge or give the ol' truss rod a tweak, and everything should be right again.
