Comments about Mitchell Lurie Premium Bb Clarinet Reeds:
I have used these reeds now for about a year...They are somewhat hard to find at the local shops, but are very good to play on. The file cut gives excellent articulation control and the tone is amazing. I've yet to find a better reed. As for value-these reeds are very expensive, but are generally worth it. I rarely get a box of 5 good ones either, but then again, do you ever? The only way to do that is to make them, which is next to impossible with clarinet reeeds, besides being insanely expensive.Overal this has to be one of the very best reeds on the market, and is certainly worth it if you've got the money.
Comments about Mitchell Lurie Premium Bb Clarinet Reeds:
These are awesome reeds.French File cut for better articulation, these reeds perform nicely. I've tried all sorts of reeds and have not found a better reed. Better values, sure, but these reeds are well worth the price. I've played for 7 years and have yet to find a better reed.
Comments about Mitchell Lurie Premium Bb Clarinet Reeds:
My first experience was with Vandoren, then I used other brands. While looking for a clearer, more accurate tone in 1993, Reuben Allen recommended this reed. I have been using it ever since. It seems most are playable and often I fall into a very comfortable relationship with one reed. This situation seems to be more predictable with Mitchell Luire Premium.I'm very happy to pay the price for it.

Q. How many reeds does a clarinet player need?
A. Just one, but he'll have to go through the whole box to find it.
Not with these - Mitchell Lurie reeds are much more consistent than most. Try a five pack, you'll be back.

Comments about Mitchell Lurie Premium Bb Clarinet Reeds:
Imho this reed seems to be an easier blow even for higher notes. All reeds in the packages I've purchased are good. Relatively new to clarinet but not to music in general & have only used strength 2.5 of this brand. These reeds are thinner relative to some other brands of reeds and you have to take some care but are definitely my favorite.

Comments about Mitchell Lurie Premium Bb Clarinet Reeds:
My son has used these reeds since he started playing clarinet in 5th grade, he's now in 8th. Asked if he wanted to try a different brand and he said no. Bought the 4 1/2's since the band teacher recommended him to move to a harder reed. Jumped him from 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 and he sounds better and is happy with the sound.

Comments about Mitchell Lurie Premium Bb Clarinet Reeds:
I picked up my clarinet after 50 years and am in a local concert band. I did a Google Search about "the best clarinet reed" and this was it. Honestly, playing all notes and tone sounds better to me. I'm very happy with these reeds over Vandoran and regular Ricco.
Comments about Mitchell Lurie Premium Bb Clarinet Reeds:
Cheap, but very high quality reeds!Recommended for all!
Comments about Mitchell Lurie Premium Bb Clarinet Reeds:
This is Rico's premium brand and its definitely a good reed. Out of the box of 5, 5 were playable and great. They tend to have a more open "bright" sound to them ideal for marching. I've purchased these reeds several times and gotten the same results each time. By far the best reed brand I've come across.

Comments about Mitchell Lurie Premium Bb Clarinet Reeds:
I am a serious amateur clarinetist, playing with a symphony and with several concert bands, as well as occasional solo engagements. Any serious clarinetist will agree that no reed is perfect. However, I find the Mitchell Lurie Premium Cut reed quite "manageable". Using #4 reeds, I find that I can play them right out of the box about half the time and "adjust" them by sanding with #400 sandpaper the other half of the time.

Comments about Mitchell Lurie Premium Bb Clarinet Reeds:
I am a serious amateur clarinetist. Have tried all the "name" reeds. Some are good, others not so good. None are perfect. I find that Mitchell Lurie reeds are more consistent, offer less resistance (thinner tip), and are priced more reasonably. They are not subjected to the sales hype of the "name" reeds. I consider them a "best-kept secret".
