Theo Wanne mouthpiece with a fiery presence.
The SHIVA is designed for players desiring a sound with a lot of edge, but that maintains a huge core that is rich in harmonics.
Inspired by the popular MANTRA mouthpiece, the SHIVA takes the MANTRA's innovative design and brings it to those players that are accustomed to a Guardala, Dukoff or Berg Larsen style of mouthpiece.
It has a combination roll-over and step baffle, leading to Theo Wanne's proprietary "shark-gill" chamber. These features give the mouthpiece a rich, full sound with plenty of edge and projection, making it ideally suited for Rock n' Roll, R&B or any situation where the player may require some extra carrying power.
Like all Theo Wanne products, the SHIVA is made using state-of-the-art design and manufacturing technologies and tools, ensuring your receive the most consistent, high-quality mouthpieces available today.
Included with the SHIVA, is the built-in Liberty Ligature, which is adjustable to five separate locations on the mouthpiece for varying types of response. Two interchangeable pressure plates are also included, along with all of the necessary tools and a leather carrying case.

Comments about Theo Wanne SHIVA Gold-Plated Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece:
Very bright MP. The 8* Shiva Tenor Sax is not too open even with harder reeds = aka 2.5. Really rips with softer reeds though...like 2.0 Legere. For 9 opening you will need a 1.75 Legere or 2.0 regular cane.
The 7 really growled without the need to hum into it - great for blues and rock and roll - but seemed a bit closed. 8 would probably be a perfect fit between the ability for MP to still growl and for the player to get more volume (air and sound), without closing the reed against the MP.
Being one of the most brightest MP in the world, you will need a thick copper plate to dampen the sound - this may come with the piece, or order the Theo Wanne Plate Kit? The Gold plate should not be used for daily practice of more than 1 hr. due to it's ability to make you go deaf. A Rovner rubber type ligature may help to tame the Shiva?? - it is a Tenor Otto Link style MP, but God forbid if it takes the "growl" out of the Shiva - maybe use only for practice?
On the plus side, if you have a dying dull dark reed you are trying to play on a rainy day, just play it on the Shiva and the sun will magically come out.)
