I bought these sticks being a slipknot fan and I also felt like trying aheads sticks. There the best sticks. These sticks were designed to be played hard with. I've had my sticks for a year and haven't replaced the cover since. If I had been playing with wood sticks, I would have spent more money replacing sticks than I paid for these. It's also a cheaper stick, you can replace the cover and head for less money than an actual pair of wood sticks. The sticks bring out the true and real sound of cymbals. They feel softer in a way,but thats why they make your cymbals sound alittle different. Using a wood stick makes your cymbals sound clangy because of the stick being hard. They can be slammed and not break on contact with a cymbal or drum, believe me. We used these in a drumline and that puts the most dammage on any stick, except these. Im a fast player and use alot of movement, wich is why I love these sticks. There really light and more durable than any other stick. Aheads sticks provide great stick definition and projection. After a while though, they lose there graphic from being played alot, unless you wear gloves. But overall, buy these, sure there expensive for a stick, but you'll save alot of money on sticks in the long run.

These sticks are the best sticks around - until they break. I've already broken 3 sticks (1 and 1/2 pairs). I got my first pair in the spring of 2007 (one stick was broken by about October/November and the other one broke this early spring) and my second pair on Christmas this year (one stick from that pair broke about a month ago). I'm not planning on ordering these again. It wouldn't be that big of a deal if they were in the price range of regular wooden sticks. If you have an endless money supply, then by all means get these sticks. If you don't, like me, move on to wooden ones. They'll break maybe a little more often but are ten times cheaper.

these sticks are very light and very durable, i have been using them for going on 5 months now and still havent broken them
These sticks work perfect for speed metal. It provides more power for less energy. They barely transfer any shock to the hands.
I used to go threw 2 sticks a month. But now I use the Ahead Joey Jordison 'Slipknot Model Sticks. The handle of the stick is metal. Thats why I use vater Grip tape.
I've played with these sticks for the last two years and I love them. They have a great feel and are balanced really well. The only thing I don't like about them as well as all of ahead sticks is the sleeves will only last about half a month to a month and a half depending on how often you play and how hard you hit. Also if you dont keep your practice area at a comfortable tempature at all times then you will end up breakin the sleeves more frequently. I've had one set of these sticks for two years and never broke them. On the other hand I had a set of them and broke them in about three weeks. I believe the reason they broke so fast was I was doing alot of chopping on the rim for some of the slower songs my band played. If you will do alot of chopping keep a set of wood sticks just for that song. Other than that these are the only sticks I use or recommend. PERIOD!
If you are a hardcore FAST slipknot and metal fan these are obviously the best sticks for you. One prob for me is that i hit very hard and i love power and i need thick sticks for that. These sticks are a little to Skinny for me so they're really meant for speed . NOW LISTEN!!! If you want them YOU BETTER HURRY UP!!! Because Joey is now signed with Pro-Mark and they will stop selling these soon. I know this cause i caught one of his sticks at the All Hope is Gone tour! SO HURRY UP BEFORE ITS TO LATE!!! (unless you want his pro mark ones) lol
absolutey love them if they look expensive over all they aren't the sleeves last twice as long as wood sticks and cost about half as much you will over all save hundreds
I use these sticks at church in the middle school praise band. My hands feel better, and I can move faster, and even my friend who plays for the high school praise band uses them. They are amazingly durable and both me and my friend are hard hitters. Buy these I promise you will not be let down.
I just broke my second pair of these sticks. They're great and all but just keep in mind that theyre not indestructable and iv had this pair for only 3 months. The aluminum shaft cracked straight through without even leaving a mark.
I bought these about 5 months ago, and they are amazing. They are very light, and are by far the best sticks I've ever used. You may want to buy some grip tape for them though if your hands get sweaty when you play, because these will definitely become slippery (not too badly though). These are a must if you are shopping for new sticks, because they are very durable, very lightweight. The price is also nice.
These are the best sticks I have ever held. If you are a speed player and use bigger sticks, grabs a pair of these and your speed WILL increase. I did break the pair I got but I am getting more, if they sold these in a 3, 5, or 10 pair pack, I would get that.
