excellent cable

Comments about Analysis Plus Yellow Oval Instrument Cable:

I compared this to an Evidence Audio Lyric HG, on an SG Select into a Mesa Lonestar special set at 5 watts, single-ended.

Feel: The Analysis has a heavier, sturdier feel to it, and is thicker with a clear coating. It is also slightly more flexible and probably more durable. It has anti-kink wrap at both ends, while the Lyric has only on the instrument side. The Lyric also has a high quality feel and look.

Sound: The Oval has a heavier, fuller bottom end, and a bigger, bolder sound, well suited to rock. I think most people would choose the Oval in a side to side comparison. The Lyric has the advantage in midrange clarity and openness with more definition. While it lacks the bottom end punch of the Oval, it pair well with hollow bodies; it brough out the nuances of my 5A maple.
Don't waste your money on monster cable (most of it's just okay), get this, Evidence, or Mogami instead.

Comments about Analysis Plus Yellow Oval Instrument Cable:

Like many guitarists I'm always in pursuit of those special pieces of gear that elevate ones rig from great to phenominal, always hoping the total is greater than the sum of the (high quality) parts. WIth that in mind, and with the recent bombardment of cable shootouts, ads and endorsements for super expensive cables, I thought I'd give this cable a shot. I A/B'd it against my Planet Waves and George Ls and as much as I wanted to hear a difference in tone or sustain, to my ears, there was none. It didnt therefore justify being more than twice the price.
