        Comments about Audio-Technica CP8201 In-Line Transformer:

Ever go to a church or a gig and a P.A. head go out or one of your Low-Z inputs quits and you have a High-Z next to it and one of these adapters.? Its OK if you have a replacement head, unless, yours was for Low Impediance mic cords and the spare is 1/4" inputs (High Impediance). These inline transformers(adapters) can save the day. They fit great and in emergencies, they can help save the show. I've been there and done that!!, and its not fun!! This is a quick fix item that works. Its worth its weight in gold if you have even a Low-Z go out on your head, many have a High-Z input right beside them. This adapter might be the difference in a good show and a bad show. Cheap security for a musician or sound man who wants to be ready for anything.

I use this lite weight, self contained, simple plug in unit to plug my low imp. headset mic (or any other low imp. mic) into older (60's tech.)boards that have only hi imp.(1/4")inputs... (local Eagles,Elks lodges & taverns; Yep, they're still out there... :)
Works like a charm... Used 'em for decades.
I also have the opposite transformer, to plug different types of older recording mics into modern boards.

This lets you hang a mic on a guitar amp when you are in a bind for more PA. It clearly does not replace a mixer board and a PA system, and controlling feedback is a little tricky. I knew that going in, so I am in no way disappointed

You have three options in this category. The Shure 85, Whirlwind Little Imp and the Audio-T. I tried all three and for the price you can't beat the Audio-T. No noise and excellent construction.

I can now sing over my guitar amp or thru my guitar effects. I use a digital delay pedal and an EQ pedal to get just the right sound I want from vocals. This is a great little gadget.

This mic impendance matching transformer is useful. The quality is good and I have encountered no added buzzing or clicking. I have had this unit for a while [nearly a year] and I have only one issue with it. The male end of the transformer is bent sideways slightly, but it still plugs into amps and recorders, etc. Solid.
