I is satisfied.
usually foam is way more expensive, but you get plenty of foam for a medium sized room. if you have basic knowledge of were to place it (behind the speakers and do some mental trig) then you'll have a great sounding room.
REMEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!! ok i'm tired of people complaining because these aren't designed to control bass frequencies! DUHH! theyre MID-TREB range foam! you gotta have bass traps to trap the bass!
perfect. i would play a metronome pretty loud in my room to see how bad the echo was, and it was a pathetic flutter echo that sounded like a fender spring reverb with a 2 second tale haha
remember, i didn't use all my foam yet, i still have 8 more sheets to place in my room, but today i listened to the metronome and the flutter is cut down by like 90% no lie! also the tail is divided by like 8. and the decay of the echo/reverb in the room is cut down WAY. i'm trying to keep this simple but long story short it works really well.
i wish it didn't rip so easily but you win some you loose some. thats the only reason why i gave it a 9, but thats just personal standards lol most people dont hang them on the wall with thumbtacks. NOT recomended lol unless its a temporary job
exelente. BUY IT

First off, I am a studio designer in L.A. a pro in the industry. The Auralex is like Sonex, expensive, looks good and works. There is no magic in Auralex or Sonex, its the irregular shapes that kill sound. The thickness is not really that much of a factor in these type of applications, in foam I mean. You are best off if you want to kill room nodes and standing waves, with the foambymail.com 4" wedge foam. Whay you ask. Ok, sound travels at 1130 ft. per-sec, avg at sea level. Than means that the physical length (if you could see it) of a 100 hz sound wave (the low end that kills a room) is 11.3 feet long. That means that the larger the irregular shapes you have stuck on your wall, to capture/block the lower waves, the better. You are also better off putting the sound panels you buy, whatever the brand, a bit apart and in a random manner. The spaces between the panels do as much to kill sound waves as the panels. Sound@1130 ft per-sec, means that the male Vocal @ around 1000hz has a physical length of 1.3 ft. The bigger wedges will catch both the high end and keep the low end from reflecting around the room. Low end tends to bend around a room, collecting in corners, especially, in corners. Its not really the foam or even its thickness, in this market, that has the magic result, its the irregualr shape of the foam that helps tame sound. So, if you want thicker, carpet the wall, then put up large (at least 4" wedge foam) irregular shapes, even book shelves help trap bass. thefoambymail product is a bit less of a quality product, but not much and cheaper, last I bought there. A last thought. That screaming high end shrill sound in your practice room, is likely a result of the higher order harmonics of the low end resonating out of control, round and round the room! Remember there is a big difference between, tuneing a room and deadening a room. Try to use near field monitors keep em' low volume and the room will not enter into the equation, for recording. For band practice, many large irregular foam shapes placed at random on the walls, roof and ....floor, amps, shelves, gear etc. will do you better than a room coated in Auralex! If in doubt, go bigger on the foam size. Hope this clears up some very basic issues here... theres a whole lot more to discuss.

Comments about Auralex Studiofoam Designer Kit:
If you need to control sound reflections for monitoring/mixing this stuff works great. Placement is key. Also depending on the size of your room and how lively or dead you want it may require more or less.

Comments about Auralex Studiofoam Designer Kit:
Foam is great quality. It was affordable. Set the glue in the sunlight if it is a cool time of year otherwise the glue doesn't spread well. The glue works!! Make sure you put it where you want it. You have just a little time to get it positioned. I made a cardboard jig that was the size of 4 of the squares for some diamond shaped positions of the foam. That way I could trace around jig with chalk and then make sure all was straight before I glued. Great product. What sold me was the videos at the Auralex website. Angles of first reflection, room dynamics, everything you need to fully support your foam purchase. Very pleased.

Comments about Auralex Studiofoam Designer Kit:
Good stuff, will need more. Kind of pricey. I used a strong double sided foam tape rather than the supplied adhesive ( I didn't have a corking gun ) For my home studio here at [@] this stuff is perfect and looks good too.!
Comments about Auralex Studiofoam Designer Kit:
Overall, this product does what it's supposed to do. It's attractive and easy to use. A bit expensive for what is basically a box of foam, however.
Using this product for a home studio. The foam squares are functional and attractive. Not only have we mounted them on the walls in the control room, but we have also mounted them on pink foam insulation board (Home Depot) to create moveable "walls" for isolating the vocal booth, drums, etc., in the recording studio.
My only complaint is that the caulk adhesive supplied with the foam is nearly impossible to squeeze out of the tube unless you cut a very large opening in the tube, and then you don't have enough adhesive to complete the job. We bought foam-compatible adhesive at Home Depot that was much easier to manipulate with the caulk gun.
Attractive and well made. Easy to use.
A bit expensive for a box of foam... regardless of function.
Comments about Auralex Studiofoam Designer Kit:
Again, they are functional and they look unbelievable.
After 26 years I decided to give my home studio a much needed face lift. The old carpeting on the walls came down, Sheetrock was replaced, the whole online yards. The finishing touch was the studio foam. I ordered two kits which included 32, 1' X 1' panels, as well as the adhesive to apply to the back sides. Not only are the squares functional beyond my wildest expectations, but they are beautiful. I ordered the purple, and they are even more vibrant than the picture shows. Longe story short, the studio makeover turned out great, cosmetically, and functionally, and a big part of it was due to applying these panels.
These panels are very good quality.
The price for the panels and adhesive was a good value.
Comments about Auralex Studiofoam Designer Kit:
I had a friend of mine help me install 2 boxes (He applied the glue,I insalled it) in about 1 hr, that
included some cutting for recpticales. I had no problem with the included adhesive. I have since. bought 3 more boxes to complete the job. It looks good, easy to install, does a great job.
Easy to install, works as intended, easy to follow directions.
I took off a little hear because there was some difference in color between the sqaures, but it really
didn't bother me that much. I was more focused on the sound adsorbtion and it did a good job there.
The price was the best for the amount of coverage.
Comments about Auralex Studiofoam Designer Kit:
Easy to install, attractive looking, very effective, and inexpensive. The complete kit includes a quick-setting adhesive, so installation was pretty quick. No complaints.
