I bought this to use with a preamp to add 8 channels to my DAW so I could record 16 tracks at once. my recorder only came with 8 mic inputs but could be expanded by adding another 8, I needed a 8 channel preamp and a optional plugin for my DAW and a 8 channel TRS to TRS snake to make it work, so far I've only recorded drums through the snake but it worked great with no noise, now I can't wait to record a jam session with my friends and use all 16 tracks and get a killer mix

After receiving 4 sets of these, I hooked them up on a 24 track recorder to my mixer and found 9 out of the 24 patches were not receiving audio. Turns out that the "TIP" on the TRS 1/4" connector is about 0.013" smaller than a standard 1/4" jack. This was preventing a good connection in my breakout boxes. Switched to Hosa cables and my problem was solved. Avoid these cables.

Comments about AV Link 8-Channel TRS Recording Snake:

Cable worked great! I used it to connect my pedalboard with the rack, using 4 cables for routing the audio back and forth and the other 4 to pedals and footswitches to control the rack. Cables worked great, had to remove the plastic protector, and no real noise added to the effect chaing, nothing that i could really distinguish. The price, unbelievable... quality does not seem bad, and its seems heavy duty enough to go on multiple gigs. Other brand snakes cost more than 200...

Comments about AV Link 8-Channel TRS Recording Snake:

I was skeptical at first, but I went ahead and gave this snake a try. So far, so good. The tips are robust enough for my indoor bedroom studio. This cable was the cheapest, but had the most length and good build quality. I would buy again.

I use this to run from my Firestudio Project into an analog mixer for mixing. mastering, and for live monitoring while laying down track and I have yet to have a complaint about it.

            Good Value

Comments about AV Link 8-Channel TRS Recording Snake:

The only thing that I wish the manufacturer had done in addition to color coding the plug ends is to have numbered them as well.
This recording snake is plenty long for my needs. For home studio and use in places that will not require constant installation and removal this cable will work fine. If you are going to be constantly plugging and unplugging this cable it will work fine if you follow proper handling procedures such as always using the connector's plug and not the wire to remove the cable. The bulk of the snake is well insulated and jacketed.
The quality of materials used are above average. Construction is very good.
For the price you can't beat it.

            Great cable for studio

Comments about AV Link 8-Channel TRS Recording Snake:

I have 2 of these and one hosa, mainly because I am running 24 tracks and I wanted to alternate colors for ch 9 - 17 to easily tell them apart later. You can see from the pictures how thin the individual wires are I take care not to smash them cause they are fragile but for a mostly permenant studio environment they are great and sound the same as hosa to me. When I do live stuff I would prefer hosa because they are thicker and more durable, ut for a budget cord these rock. I am using an older Tascam board and Presonus firestudio sounds awesome.

Comments about AV Link 8-Channel TRS Recording Snake:

This snake is the best value out there. We have also used several other companies cables and found that this is the best value. If you are looking for quality, go with Mogami wiring, if you are looking for value, you have found it right here. The sound is clear, we have 16 of these snakes running through our studio. If I had the option of the snake with a tight budget this is the one I'd get again.

Good and cheap for installed cable runs.

Comments about AV Link 8-Channel TRS Recording Snake:

All cable is the same, really. Ask the AES (www.aes.org) so buying cable based on your needs is ideal. The AV Link cables are well made, but not robust enough for touring or heavy use applications. However for installations or connecting racks, they are great. 6 meters is a bit long if you just need to hook a few things together, but as long as everything is balanced, it won?t affect things much. The cables on the fan out are labeled and the plugs all have colored rings. It?s a little hard to read in low light, but the colors rings are easy to see. It?s wire and there is no sonic difference between this and monster cable, so do some research and save some money. Just don?t buy monster because of the marketing, this cable is just fine.

This may not be the most top-quality cable you can buy, but the sound difference is not very noticeable (and probably most people won't even hear a difference). and for what you get, you can't beat the price.
