Tone circuits for use with nearly all basses that will replace your tone knob and create a more efficient sound, such as low noise, low distortion, and high headroom.

Basslines STC-2C-BO Blackouts Tone Circuits are for nearly all bass guitars, due to their selectable treble frequency. You can use Blackouts Tone Circuits with either active or passive bass pickups.

STC-2C-BO Blackouts onboard Tone Circuits add tremendous tonal versatility. Use them to add or subtract EQ at center frequencies voiced specifically for the electric bass. Blackouts Tone Circuits offer low noise, low distortion, and high headroom. In addition, they are voiced for use with Blackouts for Bass Pickups, but with their switchable treble control, they're useful for all musical styles and genres.

The lows are deep, clear, and tight. There are 2 treble frequency centers to choose from. The lower setting is perfect for adding growl and bite to traditional P (precision), J (jazz), and MM (music man) bass tones. The higher setting provides a crystal clear top end to modern-sounding, full-frequency bass tones and when used with Blackouts for Bass Pickups, gives punishing clarity without brittleness.

The STC-2C-BO is mounted to a concentric potentiometer, which can replace your tone knob with no need for additional holes in your bass guitar. Basslines includes all necessary mounting hardware, such as: high-quality potentiometers on a pre-wired harness; a battery clip; a stereo jack; and black anodized, knurled, dome-style knobs.

Features

  • For use with nearly all basses
  • Can be used with active or passive pickups
  • Onboard tone circuits
  • Voiced specifically for the electric bass
  • Low noise, low distortion, and high headroom
  • Two treble frequency centers

Take advantage of the enhanced sound that your bass can achieve when you buy and mount these incredible tone circuits into your electric beauty.

Comments about Basslines STC-2C-BO Blackouts Tone Circuit with Concentric Bass and Treble Knobs:

Imagine my delight when I received this awesome Bon Jovi-emblazoned guitar strap instead of the bass preamp I ordered! Eh, mistakes happen, so I sent it back. Now, imagine my facial expression when, a week later, my re-ordered preamp arrived, and was... a Bon Jovi guitar strap! Clearly, the Rock Gods want me to renounce my evil punk rock ways & embrace Hair Metal.

STC-2C-BO, Bass Tone Control Circirt

By RC Waters

from Columbus, Ohio

Comments about Basslines STC-2C-BO Blackouts Tone Circuit with Concentric Bass and Treble Knobs:

I normally don't write reviews on musical products, but I am making an exception with the STC-2C-BO, a on board tone control for bass guitar. I own a fender Mustang bass, a very well built instrument, but with only 1 pick-up tone control is very limited. Well that was before I install the Blackouts tone circuit! It has added so much more character to the Fender Mustang bass, works very well and was indeed worth the effort installing it. (hardest part was making room for the battery) This is an active pre-amp circuit so you will have to find a place for the 9v battery. I didn't want to take away from the original look of the bass, so I purchase a replacement black pickguard and a battery holder and routered the cavity right on the pickguard, the black battery case blends in, so it's not very noticeable, this way if I every want to convert the bass back to it's orginal state, all I have to do is replace the orginal pickguard......

Blackout 2-band preamp

Comments about Basslines STC-2C-BO Blackouts Tone Circuit with Concentric Bass and Treble Knobs:

I installed mine in a bC RFich eagle bass that was passive. The preamp increased gain even with eq's set flat. I like the higher treble setting of 6k better then the lower one. The latter to me creates a less agressive tone but is ok for mellower stuff. Bass freqs are tight and articulate. Installation was pretty easy. But did have to widen the hole in bass body for the pot shaft a little bit. Also the unit sent to me was missing both knobs. I ended up buying knobs from another store instead of going thru what MF said would be a 4-5 week wait for a replacement if I sent it back for missing parts. The no knobs included is why I gave it a low overall rating.

WOW!,more than I expected

By Ruefbass

Comments about Basslines STC-2C-BO Blackouts Tone Circuit with Concentric Bass and Treble Knobs:

I put this in a Charvel with active EMG P/Us that just had a tone control. What a difference!Clean bold bass, and with the the frequency selector switch, you get 2 high options. Easy to follow instructions make it easy to install. The only concern I had was if it would work in an 18V system since Bassline does'nt give any info on this. It must be ok 'cause its working fine.
