This boss tu-15 I just got is the 5th tuner I have owned in 12 years and it should have been my first! After using this tuner nothing else seems good enough. It has everything most would ever need in a tuner for guitar / bass (has chromatic mode too if anyone needs it+ it tunes 7 string guitars and 6 string basses+it has a quick drop d mode for you guys who drop tune+ so much more you really need to check it out). I like the beep when you get each note tuned in perfect. My guitars never sounded this good before- this tuner is super accurate. You can see the attack, sustain and decay in amazing detail as the needle is so sensitive yet so easy to read at the same time. A supreme advantage over led or lcd display type tuners. Anyone serious enough to pay this much for a tuner will probablly enjoy this greatly. It has a nice lighted display (light can be switched off too if you want to save battery power) the only way I could see someone not getting what they need out of this is if you must use a stomp box tuner for your live needs. Boss is quality. If it ever breaks I will get back here and let you know. I own other boss products also and they are tough. I can't stress enough how much better it made me and my bassist sound -even our drummer boy noticed! From now on when we jam it is THE house/studio tuner enough said.

It works good on my electric guitars, but it will not pick up my accustic guitar for beans. I messed around with it for an hour a couple times playing with the pitch and trying different things. I can get it in far better tune by ear. Waste of my money, I can't belive I spent that much.

Just got this delivered today. First of all I was looking to get the TU-12H model because I have been using one for the last 7-8 years in my band. It belongs to another member and we all use the same one. I saw that one was discontinued so I went with this one. Only two minor complaints: It didn't come with the nice case like the older model but I can live without. Also it is not built quite as sturdy as the older one, but I can still see it lasting a long time. This tuner is packed with cool features. You can't see from the photo but the bottom is angled so it is a little easier to see it while sitting flat. (Works real well on a pedal board). The light really makes it visible in the dark, which is nice on stage. Very versatile with all the tuning modes. It worked very well with all my electric and acoustic instruments. It may be a bit pricey, but I think if you're going to spend a little extra on anything it should be a good tuner. (And this is it!) You could spend thousands on guitars and amps, but if you're not in tune what's the point? I am really impressed with this tuner. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.
This is a really great little tuner! I like the way it tunes up my guitars with fast, accurate, precision, and is great for setting intonation as well. I keep one on each of my pedalboards for the last 4 or 5 years and they have never let me down. True bypass also when switched off is a bonus.
This tuner does what a tuner is supposed to do, and it does it quickly and with little effort. I also use it to tune my acoustic instruments (guitar, mandolin, ukulele, etc.), but it works best with electric instruments. A great tuner at an acceptable price. I would buy it again if this one ever stops working (which I really don't think is going to happen any time soon...if ever).
I've had this tuner for around 4 months, and any and everything you want to do it does and does well. The tuner does what it's supposed to, and does it as well if not better then anything else on the market; the downside is it cost a lot, but from what I've heard and what I've done with it seems like it will last for years (if not decades). So if you have extra money and feel like playing with a perfectly tuned guitar order it and you will be satisfied.
This one doesn't come with a cover like the TU-12, which has a rigid cover that can be folded to make a tilt stand for reading the meter. But for that, it is a lot more desireable than the 12, and for not much more cost.
I use mine with 5-string bass and it works perfectly. The switchable back light is great. I've been using mine for over 6 mo. with the original battery. One thing that is slightly annoying for me is that the top is slightly angled- when it is sitting on top of my bass rig it's not angled enough to see the display, and i can't set it on its side because the angle is too great! I wish it was square like the older models! It's plastic so I don't feel comfortable putting it on the floor with my pedals. I also use it with acoustic guitar and it works great- I haven't noticed any problems or experienced any difficulties mentioned by others.
Good tuner for electrics tricky for acoustics. Very good with electrics, excellent meter and lights. It is tough with acoustics as it jumps around a ton.
I've been using this tuner for about a year now and it is by far the best tuner on the market. My guitarist has even started using it when we practice and sit down and have a jam session.
I was just looking at possibly getting another tuner & saw the review section so felt like I should comment. The reason I am looking for another Boss TU- series tuner is because the VU meter on my TU-12 has finally given up the ghost after 21 years of HARD road & studio use!!! the other functions of the tuner are still working flawlessly & I can still tune accurately using the LEDs! Enough said!
I've had the Boss TU-15 for about 4 years, and it hasn't let me down yet. It's accurate, full of great features, and most of all, reliable. It has saved me on a few occasions where I had to make last minute changes like lowering or raising the pitch of my guitar. The octave adjust is a handy feature as well. The batteries also last a long time, and as long as you don't kick the tuner around, the needle rarely needs to be recalibrated. So if you can't fork out the cash on a Peterson strobe tuner, this is the next best thing.
