Comments about Celestion Blue 15W, 12" Vintage Alnico Guitar Speaker:

I'm usually a low end cost speaker man; I "went out on the limb" and got the Alnico Blue. PERFECT for my 1-20 watt class A amp heads. The tight lows, highs pronouned but NOT HARSH, the "wooly" mids. I have no regrets dishing out for this speaker. The only way to get this IDEAL tone is to buy the speaker.

Comments about Celestion Blue 15W, 12" Vintage Alnico Guitar Speaker:

I almost gave up on getting the clear and balanced clean and overdriven tones I was looking for from my Carol Ann HS-2 amp until I put the Celestion Blue in it. The Carol Ann cabinet came with Celestion Creamback, so I wondered of the Blue would make any difference. Boy did it ever make a difference! This is exactly the tone I had been searching for. I read a lot of very positive reviews on the Celestion Blue, and now I found out they were all true. This speaker really does make a big difference.

Comments about Celestion Blue 15W, 12" Vintage Alnico Guitar Speaker:

This speaker delivers on all the promises - deep low end, rich and complex mids, and shimmery detailed highs that never sound harsh. And it is efficient! The efficiency of this speaker, installed in my 5E3 Tweed Deluxe has given me more usable volume and headroom, making that amp much more giggable than before. The Deluxe has always sounded great with it's much less expensive American-voiced Weber 12a125a speaker (true to the original Jenson P12Q), but did not quite have the oomph to work in a band situation. The Celestion Blue, at a conservative 100db sensitivity rating, has solved that while providing a more "British" midrange complexity and shimmering high end that works great with the 5E3 circuit. I am VERY pleased with this speaker. The price is silly expensive but I wanted the best I could get. So far the Celestion Blue Alnico G12 is living up to the hype.

Comments about Celestion Blue 15W, 12" Vintage Alnico Guitar Speaker:

        I put this speaker in an AC15 reissue(late 90'S)
tube rectified..Mine came with bulldog-Eminenc-which has been a great speaker..This blue has been a great upgrade.. Its complex, rich and warm.
I just recorded some tracks with it..It really
delivered. As far as installation I used the stock speaker cable and had
to open the terminals up some to get them to fit then retighten em up with pliers. One note ,this alinico speaker clears the chassis better than the original ceramic. A huge plus..

I haven't tried the Weber Blue Dogs but the sound of of the Celestion is far more interesting than the black shadow it replaced. Possibly still breaking it in but it sounds fantastic with my Hayseed and even with my princeton. Very musical sound.

Just plain beautiful. I bought this speaker for my Handwired AC15 (which formerly and a Greenback in it) and I am just blown away again. The Greenback is a solid speaker, but the Blue just spanks it! I highly recommend this to anyone, ESPECIALLY because these are the Made in UK ones. Cheers.

                Must have for ac 15

                By Greg Ford

                from Undisclosed

Comments about Celestion Blue 15W, 12" Vintage Alnico Guitar Speaker:

If you're a Vox guy ac15 or 30 the Celestion Blue is a must. I was ready to get rid of my ac15 but I decided I would bite the bullit and order the blue and hope for a better tone.

. It was pretty easy to install. You just have to remove the chassis to get at the speaker. I just used the 1/4 in connecter from the wharfedale (a little soldering required) and it was ready to go in about 20 min.

My first impression was: eh it sounds a little better but was it really worth the money? I knew it would take some time to break in so I decided to wait it out and see what happens. It took me about 30hrs of playing time to break it in so don't get worried if it doesn't sound great out of the box. After about a week of playing my amp is pure tone bliss. My amp sings. If you need to break it in fast create a loop of dynamic playing and send it at line level through your amp and let it go for a few hours every day. I played a few gigs after installing the blue and several people commented on how great my guitar sounded. The blue has a one of a kind voice and it makes my ac15 sound exactly like it is suppose so with perfect breakup and great clarity. Sounds amazing with my ts9 and trex moller.

Overall a bit expensive but worth it.
Not cheap but it transformers an ac15/30 (and probably others) from a decent tube amp to an amazing amp.

                Great Tone

Comments about Celestion Blue 15W, 12" Vintage Alnico Guitar Speaker:

I own a pair of these in addition to many other speakers. Celestion Classic Lead, G12L, G12M Greenback, G12H30, and G10M-Greenback. Also Jensen C10R, Wharfedales G12H30s. The Alnico Blue speakers are not as tight as the G12M & H, nor as dark as the G12Ls. They are basically perfect for classic crunch and gritty tones. However, these are not the best in my opinion for playing shred if you like a fast, tight attack.
