Cleartone Acoustic Guitar Strings may have a coating of only one micron, but it's more durable than coatings thousands of times its thickness. It won't flake off with hard playing, nor will it feel slick or slippery to your touch. Super-high tension winding over a hex-core is used to maintain tuning consistency throughout your performance. EMP Treatment is then applied to all the strings (including plain strings) to ensure longest tonal life without compromises.

Not sure what went wrong with the above reviewers guitar but it wasn't the strings. As a guitar maker I can assure you that these strings did not cause this problem, some other issue was the culprit. (maybe improper installation of the string, wrong gauge, pin degraded?) I've used these strings interchangeably with other brands and found them to be clear and bright for longer, no "stiffer" than other strings and the coated high e and b strings are nice- no tarnish.Caguitars.
I've used different brands, I play over 100 gigs per year, these strings hold up! I was tired of breaking strings every show - nothing breaks your stride like having to switch guitars or (worse) change a string on stage. I've beaten these strings with great results, the tone lasts.
I have been using the Cleartones light acoustic for about two years and I absolutely love them. They do come with a stiff price but the life of the strings outlasts any other. When changing string gauges, it is best left for the guitar technicians as thicker string guages could put extra stress on the guitar causing problems as mentioned in the previous review.
These strings are DISGUSTING. They are as stiff as a steel rod with no give. They pulled my bridge pins out with each turn of the tuner. I had to add tape to my pegs just to hold them and still they popped out destroying the top of my Taylor guitar. Once on they are too stiff to play with NO GIVE at all. I went to buy Elixirs at guitar center and they refused to sell them to me and pushed these on me, assuring me they were better than Elixirs. I wasted a day and scratched the top of my guitar terrible.
