Comments about D'Addario EXP12 Coated 80/20 Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:
Got my first pair of these with my new guitar and immediately fell in love with the sound. I immediately bought a spare pair because usually wear out strings pretty quickly but these lasted 3 times as long as I was used to. Even in Australia.

Comments about D'Addario EXP12 Coated 80/20 Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:
These strings are absolutely amazing. It's taken me a few years to finally find these strings - when I first started playing I started with the cheapest option, the Ernie Ball light gauges because my fingers were soft then and I could access them easily from my local music store; later on my dad got me into the D'Addario phospher bronze light gauge strings which sounded great but I couldn't afford to change my strings every week to keep the sound at a peak, also as I got into a (in my opinion) better type of music that called for a brighter sound, the phospher bronze sounded more low-end heavy; to combat the strings wearing out in a week, I began traveling a bit further and bought Elixir Coated strings every month or so but as of late I've been playing more than ever and even the didn't have the durability that I feel I need to even out with the money I spend on them and in the back of my head, the sound of D'Addario strings has always been the most desired. Finally I found these, ordered them online and plan to continue to do so. The 80/20 has the brilliant brights that I desire, the coating lasts as long, if not longer than Elixir coated strings, and the price is 2/3 that of the Elixirs.TL;DR version: Last longer than coated Elixirs and sound better in my opinion. If you prefer bright sound get the 80/20s, If you prefer a warmer low-end sound, get the phospher bronze.

Yes I,had been sold on elixers for some time, but I notice that the coating come off, but with exp12 it seem that the strings last for ever,I have had the exp12 on now for 5 months and I play every day, I want to change them to exp17 but don't know just how that going to be,man the guitar just open up very loud and has lots of volume, I think my looking for new strings maybe over i'm just wanting for exp12 too go bad so I can put the exp17 on because the have a warmer tone than exp12 the much brighter but your guitar will wake up with these strings, like I said they have been on 5 months an still in great shape.

I've tried Elixers and Martin SP+ but this D'addario EXP is my favourite on my Seagull S6. Elixers always shreads its coating after you've played it for sometime which not only makes your strings look dirty but the coating just does not do its job when that happens. Martins SP+ doesn't last long either. The D'addario EXP gives me the best tone, the coating stays on the longest thus giving you the new strings look for many months, and the plain strings doesn't corrode easily (it does darkens a little after some time, which is normal). I replace them after every 6 months on normal playing.
Comments about D'Addario EXP12 Coated 80/20 Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:
I've tried many strings over the years but none that consistantly give the sound clarity and length of service of the EXP12's. I play outside gigs in SW Florida where it is hot and sweaty and these strings have never let me down. I've pounded them hard on an occassional Neil Young tune and have never broken a string. The coating does not flake away and tends to last a long time...even in the hot SW Florida climate. This is the string of choice for me.
Comments about D'Addario EXP12 Coated 80/20 Bronze Medium Acoustic Guitar Strings:
Went to purchase the recommended ELIXERS for my new Taylor 410CE. They did not have Elixers so the guy talked me into these. I am not happy with the sound at all. Compared to other brands these are okay but they just don't have the tone on my Taylor that the Elixers do. And the string noise when you are moving your fingers is worse than Martin Marquis'. These are good quality strings...They just can't be compared to ELIXER'S.
