I bought the DiMarzio P+J set to install on two different basses. This is the third time I've used a Model P pickup- the first was in the 70s- and I consider it the best all-around value in Precision Bass pickups. You could pay a lot more without any significant improvement. This particular one seems less boomy than earlier models and has a smooth yet powerful sound. If you own a Squier or one of the many other P-Bass copies, you won't regret buying a Model P. Similarly, the Model J will delight Jazz Bass owners, as the weak point in those basses has always been their thin-sounding and noisy single-coil pickups. The Model J is a dual-coil humbucker, and has an obvious edge over ordinary Jazz Bass pickups. If you like nylon-wound strings, as do I, you need to try the Model J- you'll never go back to single-coils. Installation is easy, provided you can use a soldering iron and have some common sense. In any case, these DiMarzios are IMO the best and cheapest improvement you can make to your Fender or Fender-style bass. If you've been on the fence about getting a set, go and do it without delay.

Good product and reasonably priced, but not exactly what I expected from the photo.
The pickups I received were not as pictured. The Jazz pickup did not have adjustable pole pieces as shown on the Musician's Friend site. This was somewhat important since I was hoping to tame a boomy E string. I installed them anyway on an active Mexican Precision and I'm happy with the sound.

I just installed these in my Rouge bass that i bought for a rebuild today. They are excellent pickups at a great price. The difference between the stock pickups and these are night and day. If your looking to upgrade your pickups, you cant go wrong with these. I highly recommend buying them

Comments about DiMarzio DP126 P+J Neck and Bridge Bass Pickup Set:

Big improvement over the stock pickups that came with my Fender P-Bass Special Deluxe (passive). The P-type pickup provide crisp top end, thick mids and warm lows. The J-type pickup is a nice improvement over the factory pickup in particular. The original J-type was virtually useless, but now the DiMarzio J-type has better low end and a warmer top end.

Comments about DiMarzio DP126 P+J Neck and Bridge Bass Pickup Set:

I received a short scale Jaguar bass as a gift and the stock jazz pickup was pretty weak. So I decided to replace the whole set. I did a lot of research on which pickups to go with. I wanted something that could do the big grindey dirt bike tone as well as smooth natural tone. I went with the Dimarzio's because they seemed to be the ones to do it all, and they do. I love the versatility and clarity of these pickups. They are very sensitive to the pick attack and sound really good finger style as well. The allen screw pole pieces make it easy to really dial in your tone as well (nice feature). Really really good pickups for the money, and I am very happy.

Comments about DiMarzio DP126 P+J Neck and Bridge Bass Pickup Set:

I've played around with at least a dozen bass pickups and so many of them sound the same. Either too muddy/lack definition or have some kind of upper end hiss to them. Even EMGs, which I sometimes like in guitars, didn't sound much better. The DiMarzios really make the instrument come alive with just the right EQ to have tight lows and nice highs, giving the bass the perfect sound to play solo or in a mix.

I had purchased an older model Ibanez SR400 and the stock pickups were very dull. Found a guy on YouTube who replaced the pickups in the very same bass and decided to give it a try. He told me his were these DiMarzios so I bought the pups from Musician's Friend and had a guy who knew what he was doing install them for me. I put D'Addario Chromes on it and now this bass sounds like a high-end model! I couldn't be happier. Please note that these are passive pickups vs. the Ibanez active pickups, but the sound is thunderous with the flats!

I bought these DiMarzio PJ style pickups a week ago and installed them as soon as I recieved them, this is the first time I've attempted this type of upgrade and found it to be quite easy to do and the pickups fit perfectly in my 4 string Guild Pilot. What a boost it gave my bass! Great sound and tone adjustability. These are a great buy!

I replaced the active pickups in my Ibanez Soundgear bass with these. I don't like active pickups. The sound is amazing. Punchy, deep, clear and dynamic sounding. As the discription stated, the guitar seemed to come to life when I first heard them. These are excellent pickups at a good price.

Wow, these pickups really breathed life into my Ibanez GSR200. Of course, almost any pickups would do that.I knew the bass had a good unplugged sound, all it needed was a good set of pickups. The bass is so punchy now when playing it through my 70s Ampeg V-4B and Avatar 4x10!This is my first experience with DiMarzio pickups and I'm very pleased!
