very easy to use ,,,not gooey at all,,,I use one coat when I change strings, then once a month if I don't use that particular ax that much,,twice a month on my played axes ,,,good on electric strings,,,really good on extending life on acoustic strings,,this is very easy to use,,use the applicator for the string sides facing you,,then take a small cotton cloth shaped like a ribbon and do insides of strings,,,if you burn through strings,,,you need this,,very very tiny change in feel of strings,,the liquid has the consistency of mineral oil ,,highly recomended

Comments about DR Strings Stringlife LIQUID POLYMER Coated String Cleaner:

I have been using Stringlife for about a year now. I got a new guitar with non - coated strings on it, and didn't really want to change the strings, so I tried coating them myself. I found that if put multiple coats on, about 20 minutes apart, so they can dry, I could build up enough coating to cut the friction down when I slide. For those of you who don't like slippery strings, put only one or two coats on. I found that it extended the life of non coated strings to 4 months. If you do like strings to be slippery you will have to re-apply 2 coats after a while.

I love the sound of Nickel/Iron strings. The heavy punch and sweeter upper-mids make for the achetypal rock guitar tone. Unfortunately I have acidic Ph, so the Iron reacts to my sweat and feels weird and sticky after a while. I found that the recommended intital "24 hour" wet appliation helps a lot. I use GHS Fast Fret for daily cleanig and haven't noticed any problems with a gooey build up.

This stuff received high ratings from others but I found it to be gooey and it builds up on the strings. As you play, it gradually becomes stickier and more gummed up. You're better off with String Ease, Fret lube, or some of the other string lubricants on the market.

This stuff really prolongs the life of your strings and makes them feel like new. The bottle lasts a really long time. I think my last bottle lasted me about 4 years. Overall great stuff and it sure beats buying expensive coated strings.

Comments about DR Strings Stringlife LIQUID POLYMER Coated String Cleaner:

I just now found out about this stuff and couldn't wait to try it. I have used swayed back and forth between elixirs and ernie ball (uncoated) on both my electrics and acoustic and finally I can have the awesome sound of my ernie's with the life of the elixirs. I put this on my ernie ball earthwood's and put them on my Washburn cumberland. Instead of dying after a week of regular playing and giving lessons, I am at two weeks and still going with clean strings and fresh tone. I coated my ernie ball hybrid slinkys and put them on my tele. DUDE!!! lightning fast leads and no change in sound at all for the uncoated strings. Mind that you still have to wipe your string down after playing as usual, but now we can pay $5 for string and they will last a month or two!!! Get this stuff now and join the revolution!!!
