DR Strings

DR's most popular electric guitar string set.

Tite-Fit roundwound nickel-plated electric guitar strings are designed to be a great all-around string available in a wide range of gauges. Based on a round core, the construction techniques for the Tite-Fit electrics are very old. However, the core wire and wrap wire in DR's are the latest, most advanced and expensive metals available. Use Tite-Fit strings for flexibility, tone, and long life. These guitar strings sound great for rock, blues, heavy metal, and jazz.

Gauges 10-13-17-30-44-52.

nice tone, but not what i ordered

Comments about DR Strings Tite-Fit BT-10 Big-n-Heavy Electric Guitar Strings:

i ordered a pack of the 10-46 tite-fit strings and got sent these, i didnt even notice until i put the strings on. they sound good as usual for DR strings, but i find it very difficult to do pinch harmonics, and they dont bend as easily. that said, the sound i get out of them is very clear and have a lot of punch.

hybrid guitar

Comments about DR Strings Tite-Fit BT-10 Big-n-Heavy Electric Guitar Strings:

Nice solid tone. Not super-flexible, but stays in tune very well.

I was looking for an electric string with a full-tone, which still had some acoustic character for my hybrid when using the piezo bridge. I tried about a dozen different strings over the course of about two years. These are the winners. For standard tuning I use the 10-52 which also works well for a wobbly drop "D" tone. When I want to emphasize the acoustic tone, I will often switch to the DR Jeff Healey 10-56 tite-fits. The extra thickness really accentuates the bell like tone.

Only negatives: They are not as easy to bend as some other brands, but I don't care because they stay in tune better than most, and that's the price you pay for superior tone. Also, the tremendous fundamental tone doesn't translate as well with single coils. I use a hot-single in the bridge and a Norton in the neck; the Norton sounds incredibly smooth and articulate with these, but the single is a little too tame, lacking in second octave harmonics. That being said, I like the acoustic and neck tones so much with these strings that I plan on swapping the bridge pickup rather than swapping the strings...

DR has always made a superior product as far as tone and reliability go.

Ferrari Strings

Comments about DR Strings Tite-Fit BT-10 Big-n-Heavy Electric Guitar Strings:

I've been playing blues, rock and heavy metal for 35 years. I'm using these strings (10-52) on a 2001 American Standard Stratocaster. I play in standard 440 tuning,(E,A,D,G,B,E).After years of trying all kinds of strings, I like these the best....by far. 1. When I first tried these strings, it was like I removed a blanket covering my amplifier.2. 10 gage DR strings bend as easily as 9 gage of other brands. Must be the unigue core design.3. They have about 20% more sustain.I did have a problem with strings breaking. I called DR and they sent me a new package without any questions. Must be a bad batch. I think DR is going through a quality issue, with some strings breaking far too easily. So like Ferrari cars, they are the highest performance but can be a little unreliable as well. My current set has about 200 hours on them and they sound good still. Like new lesser brands. Yet, they still bend easier than any other string.

strings of strength

Comments about DR Strings Tite-Fit BT-10 Big-n-Heavy Electric Guitar Strings:

Awsome strings! I purchased 2 sets of these strings, one set is on my strat and the other is on my dean ml 79 floyd. Buy a set to truly understand, awsome tone, awesome durability just an all around good string the only reason for the 4.5 in value is the fact they are a little steep in price.
