Comments about DR Strings Zebra Medium Acoustic-Electric Guitar Strings:
Had an old 3/4 sized acoustic, put new Ping tuners, installed a Gibson P-90 with volume, tone etc. Had Silk and steel acoustics on it, sounded great acoustically, but not so good electrically. changed to the DR Zebra at the suggestion of my local luthier...What a huge difference!! Highly recommended!
Comments about DR Strings Zebra Medium Acoustic-Electric Guitar Strings:
on my Taylor 214. I had a friend give me a set and didn't really notice they were meant to be used on an acoustic-electric. They sound great on the Taylor though.
Comments about DR Strings Zebra Medium Acoustic-Electric Guitar Strings:
I bought these for my Hamer Duotone. It uses a rosewood acoustic-style bridge with a piezo pickup on a thinline body fitted with two humbuckers like an electric. It's a pretty cool guitar. I thought that these hybrid strings would be perfect for my hybrid guitar, but I was wrong. They don't work well enough with the humbuckers. The steel B and E strings are significantly louder than the wound strings. The nickel winds on these strings help, but not enough. It's not as bad as if you put all bronze strings on there (those have terrible results with regular electric guitar pickups), but it's just not good enough. I'll have to go back to nickel-wound strings.
Comments about DR Strings Zebra Medium Acoustic-Electric Guitar Strings:
I've been playing for about 17 years. I normally use Martin Marquis strings. Whenever I go out on a limb and try a different type of strings it seems that I always compare them to my "benchmark" strings, Martin Marquis. The DR Zebra Strings do not compare at all. The 5th (A) string and 6th (E) string were especially bad. They did not have much of any kind of tone; they just kinda went "thud". Forget about sustain! They didn't work any kind of wonders with my piezo pickup, either. This is what I really wanted to try them for. I play through a high quality sound system every week and I'm always looking for anything that will push the quality of my sound higher. I thought that this was a good thing to try, so I did. I won't buy these again. I'll stick to my Marquis.
