Comments about Dunlop Nickel Plated Steel Electric Guitar Strings Extra Heavy 6-Pack:
if you're shopping for 56-13 guage strings, and plan on sticking with them for a while, might as well pick up 6 sets at once, save money and not have to worry about buying strings for almost a year (depending on how much you play), no last minute runs to GC. also the package is designed very well and will keep them from losing quality in sitting on the shelf (sealed in a d'addario like pouch)
they're typical nickel plated strings, no neon colors, coating or fancy winding technology or rare earth metals... they are strings, not bling. i guess this lowers the rating, even though i prefer them this way.
put a set on 2 of my electrics after putting a set of d'addario 56-13's on my other electric and falling in love with the thick guage, and have also handed them out to friends to try and expose to how awesome these strings are (hell they're cheap enough why not?) and i've made addicts out of them yet. the dunlop strings last just as long as the d'addario's with maybe a little more bend to them, the main reason i bought these was because you cant beat the value of a bulk pack and i couldnt find any bulk packs of d'addario's. i've read a bunch of forums about strings and dunlop are hardly ever mentioned or thought of, i prefer over any other strings of this guage (formerly an elixer addict). dunlop strings never much jumped off the rack at me but when you think about it, straplocks, cry baby, some of the best picks, countless accessories and mxr products, i'd say the brand is reputable enough to trust. also all of the packs i've used have been consistent in quality of winding and feel
you will not find a better value buy for this guage strings, i spent far too much time looking for one, and i'm pretty glad i didnt, if i bought 6 packs of a string that didnt sound and play this good i'd probably hate myself and throw them out
Comments about Dunlop Nickel Plated Steel Electric Guitar Strings Extra Heavy 6-Pack:
As I said, time will tell but as of this moment, i am real;ly liking these. I've used GHS for years, Ernie Ball some, D'Addario as well. These seem as good as anything I've used and the price is hard to beat!
Big strings, low price. Seems pretty straight forward.
I've had them one my Les Paul and my Tele for a couple weeks now - seem to be good quality. Like the packaging as it would seem to protect them for a while if they don;t get put on right away. Not a problem - or so you would think - but I recently had a new pack of another brand that had significant corrosion on them - brand new out of the package.
The tone of these is really nice - big and full, clear balanced tone.
If trhey hold up anytime at all, these will be great bang for the buck.
