OVERVIEW

Combat finger grunge!

Gauges: 10-10-14-14-23-09-30-12-39-18-47-27.

Elixirs are the first major innovation in strings in over forty years, and they deliver what they promise: great tone and long life no matter what you put them on or how often you play. Nanoweb coating permits strings with the feel, bright tone, and punch of traditional strings.

Elixir Nanoweb 12-String Acoustic Guitar Strings are covered with an ultra-thin, space-age polymer tube that contacts the string on the tops of the windings only. This leaves the all-important winding-to-winding-to-core space free from the fear of the enemies of tone!

Most players report that Elixir Strings keep sounding great 3 to five times longer than ordinary strings.

FEATURES
  • Gauges: 10-10-14-14-23-09-30-12-39-18-47-27

  • Played for a crisp, bright tone with an expressive, vibrant presence
  • Ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating provides a more traditionally textured, “uncoated” feel
  • Patented coating technology protects against common corrosion, extending tone life longer than any other brand’s coated or uncoated strings (Elixir Strings player survey)
  • America’s #1 acoustic guitar string brand – MI Sales

Played 12 string since 1969. I've had cheap 12 string guitars all the way through to my current one which is a Martin D12-28.

I've used so many different sets of strings I've forgotten over half of the manufacturers.

Elixirs have been my strings of choice for the last 6 years and are utterly unsurpassed by anything else I've tried. They are superb. I string them with confidence using the method described in Martin's Dave Doll video. They tune up and maintain their tuning whether tuned to pitch or set a step or two down.

They ARE expensive, especially in UK, but when you know you are getting this kind of consistency, longevity and quality, you can order with confidence.

I enjoy the sound and longevity. I especially like that they stay in tune during a set. I do not like the the G string 023 keeps breaking at the bridge even after applying graphite. Elixer sent 4 replacement strings but changing this string every week is getting old. Problem is I have a Breedlove that does not use bridge pins, but these strings should still handle the tension

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze 12-String Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.047):

Saw the opportunity to purchase these 80/20 Elixirs at a discount, and they're so expensive I jumped at the chance. I use them on my Takamine EG523SC twelve string in my solo act, and while I usually prefer the Phosphor Bronze Elixirs, these are working well for me now. I use the 12 string for tunes that benefit from tuning a half step down, and I've been pleased with the tone and fullness of these strings. Having used the Phosphor Bronze strings previously, I'll have to see if these last as long, but assume they will also have extended life, beyond normal uncoated strings.

I made the mistake of purchasing another brand of strings instead of my usual Elixir strings. That particular product did not sound good on my instrument. I have gone back to purchasing Elixir strings and am totally satisfied.

Definitely worth it, they sound better and last longer

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze 12-String Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.047):

I ordinarily buy elixir's 6-string packs for my acoustic guitars, so I figured I couldn't go wrong with these. As usual, these elixir strings feel and sound great. I have not had these specifically for very long, but I can vouch for their longevity on a different set of strings that I have had on a guitar for quite a few years now. I should change them, but at this point, I'm just curious to see how long they'll last. So far they still sounds better than much newer sets of strings.

Comments about Elixir 80/20 Bronze 12-String Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Coating, Light (.010-.047):

Although more expensive than most, the Elixir strings are worth the money. They last a long time without going flat or dull, they play very well, and they sound great. I buy the 12 string packs for two reasons... to string my 12-string guitars (as one would expect), and to split the set of strings in half and set up my six-string acoustics for normal and Nashville tuning. These strings work absolutely great when used for high stringing. I keep many, many packs on hand in the recording studio for those situations where a high-strung six string just calls out to be used. I love that sound!!

My son gave me my first set of Elixir strings. I gave him a hard time for spending so much on a set of strings. I told him all strings are about the same and just to buy the cheapest like I did. He put these strings on my acoustic and told me to watch and see how long they maintained their "new" brightness. He was right! They sound like new forever! Even on my guitars that sit out on stands in my living room exposed to dust, temperature swings, humidity, etc. Great strings! I use them on all of my acoustic guitars now.
