Eminence recommends the Kappa Pro 15A as an alternate replacement speaker in the JBL JRX1515, the Yamaha S115V and BR15, the American Audio DLS-15P, and the Mackie SMR450 and SR1530z speaker cabinets.

I have two old peavey TLS 15 Bass cabinets with my sound system. Last weekend on setup we found that one of the 15 inch Scorpions had blown during our job the week before. The local Peavey dealer didn?t have a replacement basket and it would take more than a week for one to come in. Being in a jam and playing two jobs on the third and fourth of July I needed to act quickly. I ordered two of the Eminence Kappa Pro 15A 500W PA Replacement Speakers with two day air and these guys rock. I loaded them in the cabinets on Thursday with a complete test and setup with my Peavey SP 5 and they sounded better than the original scorpion speakers they replaced. Our job tonight on the third of July was an outside gig with drums and bass along with vocals running through the system and we had more clear bottom end than ever before. We play music for line dancing on breaks and they rocked. Time will tell but from all indications these speakers are winners.

These have twice the excursion capability of the stock speaker in the Yamaha S115V. The stock speakers are fine for vocals but they bottom out well before full power if you are miking drums. Since loudness is an exponential function of excursion, this yields four times, or 6db boost in output capability in the bass frequencies below 150hz. Kick drums come alive! Vocals and mid-voiced instruments are not garbled by an overworked woofer. Very lifelike reproduction with slight enhancement of lower end of male vocal range (where many vocal mics are lacking). This is also an excellent speaker for bass guitar cabs. Very smooth mids with a subtle presence peak to add definition and punch.

We plugged them in and they rock. hard. have two piece of crap 18in nadys that belong in the bonfire now that we have these.

I've invested countless years and dollars supporting JBL's interests; I was an audio snob. On my most recent foray into system construction, I invested in Eminence Kappas. For the price of a JBL cone kit, I have a speaker that makes a statement! I love the tone, behavior, and performance. I almost feel guilty about my level of enjoyment...
