Comments about Eminence Legend BP102 10 Inch 200W Bass Speaker:
Just played on them in a 2-10" PAS cabinet with a GK 800. Midtones with muddy lows and little to no highs. My gold series speaks sound 5 times better. I might have been better off having my PAS speakers reconed.I wont trust Eminence speaker after this.
Comments about Eminence Legend BP102 10 Inch 200W Bass Speaker:
THis is a very cost effective, versatile speaker. Whilst many use this as a speaker for bass guitar amplification, I used a pair of these to make a home theatre/3 - way stereo speaker set, as woofers. They work well with both formats. The copper voice coils gives the BP102 Legend a beautiful, rich tone; the bass guitar aspect bestows these speakers with superb lows, all the way down to 1 octave below Low E (40 hz), when used as woofers; the 200w RMS power handling allows high power use OR extreme overheads in a 110/120 watt per channel application. These speakers can easily handle 300-400w peak power, so you will have approx. 6-9 db overhead in case of overdriven modulation. I used a 750 hz cutoff in my crossover network, so only the 35 hz-750 hz range was used in my speaker application; the Legend's range is 35-2000hz, with the main response being in the 35-1500hz range, so this speaker is ideal for this application. The clarity of bass notes on the Legend BP102 is exceptional. The cost is very reasonable. The performance is excellent. Add a quality midrange and a high quality tweeter, (plus a reasonably good crossover) and this speaker will give you an audio system very good for loudspeaker/stereo use, and extraordinary for home theatre use.
