Works good, and fits my Gibson Flying V which is why I bought it. The only gripe I've got (hence 4 stars)is the lousy protection for the points of the guitar. There is nothing to keep it from going 'thud' if you set it in a little rough.

The head and neck seem fairly well protected, but again, it is lacking at the points, which being a flying V is kind of a big deal right?

I would suggest buying/cutting to shape some foam or padding to help remedy this. I fear one good jolt as-is will not be handled by the stock material. They could have done better on this!

I recently purchased an Epiphone Flying V case.First, when the case arrived I immediately noticed the latch closest to the headstock does not align properly. The top and bottom halves are off by approximately 1/4 inch. As such, it make that latch seem insecure when latched.Second, inside the case was an area approximately 8 inches long where the fur lining was coming off at the top of the case. I re-glued this area but am concerned about others areas coming undone as well.Third, this case does not seem to fit my Gibson Faded Flying V guitar. The portion that holds the body is VERY tight at the V points. So much so that it seems that I have to force the guitar into the case. I was told that the case is not meant for Gibson guitars. Though it may be possible, it would seem rather unlikely that TKL would manufacture two distinct cases, considering Gibson owns Epiphone and I believe that specs are the same for both Flying V's.

Ultimate Guitar Armor

Comments about Epiphone Flying V Hardshell Case:

This case fits so snug it is almost hard to get the Guitar inside, which I appreciate when compared to some of the sloppy cases I have dealt with on some of my other guitars, possibly causing travel scuffs.I found placing the 'V' points in first while the case is upright helps load the guitar inside much easier.I own a dicontinued Goth V with the Floyd rig and this case is a true rock solid case to protect my investment!

Comments about Epiphone Flying V Hardshell Case:

I have looked all over for a case that would fit my Epiphone 58 Goth V and this is, by far is the best deal on the net. The case is buff and fits perfectly. Plenty of extra storage space.

Comments about Epiphone Flying V Hardshell Case:

Just got the Epi case pictured here (the broom-shaped one, not rectangular). Structurally very sound/heavy duty, although I did notice (like some other posters) that the points of my flying V are pretty tight - I have to wrestle a bit to get the guitar in. However, it fits, and the case closes fine with the guitar in it. I love how light it is compared to my Explorer case, and the padlock latch is handy. Hardware is sturdy too; I'm not worried about dropping it. The plush lining has some glue spilled in a couple spots (nothing that'll scratch my guitar tho) and it's a bit sloppy right next to the accessory compartment. I don't much care about that though; I just need a case to protect my V, and I'm VERY happy with this item.

Comments about Epiphone Flying V Hardshell Case:

I bought this case for my '58 Goth Flying V. Like other reviews say this case is snug around the points of the v but is a good fit. Its tight enough that you know the guitar won't move around. I would have liked to see a built-in lock on the case but it does have a slot for a padlock on one of the latches. Other than that this case is a great value although it does have a distinct "play-doh" smell that I hope will go away!

It's not a bad case at all. It's not much worse than the Gibson V case.

Happy with the purchase

Comments about Epiphone Flying V Hardshell Case:

Wow!!! What a thight case. I thought that my Korina Flying V wouldn't fit, but finaly I get my guitar inside the case. The ends of the V shape are the hardest part to accomodate. Overall, construction is great, protects my guitar like no other and the plush is very thick, so there is no way to a guitar get damaged.

Very bad quality! Avoid!

By nyc.917

Comments about Epiphone Flying V Hardshell Case:

These cases used to be very nice. There are no longer well made. I got a defective one and had to send it back for a replacement. The replacement one was also defective. Basically there's a triangular baffle glued to the lower end of the case where the V points rest. On both items the baffle was not glued down securely and was coming off. Also other areas of the case lining were peeling away from the side of the case. And finally, they smelled AWFUL! I don't know if it was the glue or the fake leather tolex covering, but it smelled like rotten moth balls or something and it stunk up my entire apartment. I was so glad to get rid of it.

Just as well, it's TKL

Comments about Epiphone Flying V Hardshell Case:

I got this for my Gibson Faded cherry V. It fit snugly at the two points, there's a gap behind the body a bit. The top closed perfectly with no resistance, I shook the case at every angle but there was no slipping inside. Mines mad by TKL. It doesn't have a satin sheet or Gibson snake skin vinyl, but this is the same quality. I will remove the epiphone name from mine with nail polish remover as I haver in the past. You'll be proud of yourself for saving the bucks, I know I am.
