Comments about Ernie Ball 2045 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Silk and Steel Soft Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I put these strings on my friends ibanez jampack acoustic guitar. One of those value package guitars worth less than $200, strung it there so it would be easier on his fingers since he is just learning, and since the strings are soft. I ended up changing my acoustics with these strings. Great sound and feel. Makes budget guitars sound expensive.

Ernie Ball Silk & Steel Soft 2045

Comments about Ernie Ball 2045 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Silk and Steel Soft Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I just strung my guitar with Ernie Ball Silk & Steel Soft 2045's (11-52 gauge). These are great! I previously had my guitar strung with DR 12's. These are so much easier on the hands, the tone is marvelous. These are the strings I'll be using on all my acoustics from now on. Thanks for a great product!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2045 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Silk and Steel Soft Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I just stringed my big baby taylor with these and this strings are soft and feels silky it makes your fingers glide in the fretboard. The sound is not boomy nor tinny, it's kinda in the midrange, but it still brings out adequate and beautiful tones. This are good strings, I highly recommend it.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2045 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Silk and Steel Soft Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I picked up an Epiphone Masterbilt EF-500R last year as I was starting to do a lot more finger picking. For 15 years I had been a straight strummer and always had dreadnaughts. Since I got the Epi (which is an OM size) I was struggling to settle on the right strings. I use nothing but D'Addario EXP's on my other guitars. I just couldn't get the sound and more importantly the feel I wanted for my playing style, which is mainly bare finger travis picking. I stumbled on these strings and gave them a try. My search is over... These strings are so subtle and have such great tone. They give you the soft feel of silk & steel while still giving you the definition of 80/20 bronze. I can't speak to longevity yet, I doubt they will last as long as the D'Addario EXP's, but I am more than willing to make that trade because of the sound and feel. Kudos to Ernie Ball for making some great strings!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2045 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Silk and Steel Soft Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I bought a set of these on a recommendation of a friend. I have a Taylor 114e which is a very bright Grand Auditorium style guitar. I like the guitar but I wanted to mellow it out a bit. These strings gave the guitar more bass, smoother mids and a warmer tone overall, big difference. I still have the Taylor punch but it the strings tamed the brightness and now my Taylor just growls...and they are easier to play!

Comments about Ernie Ball 2045 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Silk and Steel Soft Acoustic Guitar Strings:

Wanted to try and see if I could reduce tension on the neck without sacrificing tone, voice clarity. I was using 80/20 bronze-steell extra light. These sounded terrible right out of the packs, but have steadily improved. It's been a week and they are sweet without the twanginess of the extra lights.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2045 Earthwood 80/20 Bronze Silk and Steel Soft Acoustic Guitar Strings:

These are nice strings if you are looking for easy to play strings. They give the guitar a warm tone although a bit "muffled", but I think that this is peculiar to all silk and steel strings, not only to Ernie Ball. They do no last long.

First time with these. I was looking for a bronze silk and steel for a concert sized Breedlove that had become more difficult to play. This makes it easier and the tone in fine. We'll see how they last.

I bought these for my son's Ibanez acoustic ... to improve playability with less tension. The 11's fixed the issue. They have a smooth feel and good mellow tone. The bass strings are nylon wrapped in zinc and fret easy. He digs them, and we plan on re-stringing with another set when it's time.
