Providing I don't get another bad batch of strings, these are my go to strings.
They have an awesome sound and seem to last longer than other brand strings I've used.
I mark them as a rating of eight, but generally it would be a ten. I usually buy these strings in three 3-packs (9 sets) and normally have no trouble with them. The previous nine sets I brought, about six sets that were of poor quality. Now, that is extremely odd. I've gone years without getting a bad set. I guess I just got a bad batch of strings. This time I purchased two 3-packs and so far I've put a set on my LP and my Ibanez and haven't noticed anything wrong with them. As noted, hopefully that was just a bad batch. I've been using Erine Ball for years. (previously Hybrid Skinkys, now Regular Slinkys)
Value wise, I have never played with a better string and for the price. It's a steal in my opinion.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings 3 Pack:

I have been playing since the early 70's and I don't know why I've never tried these before! I always just used GHS Boomers, which are great too, but these are even better because of their feel. To me they are just easier to bend and they fret easier. Plus they are less expensive. The Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys are truly great strings and I'm comparing this to Ernie Ball M Steels which are also wonderful strings. But the M Steels are just too expensive and to me these strings sound as good.

Comments about Ernie Ball 2221 Nickel Regular Slinky Electric Guitar Strings 3 Pack:

I love Ernie Balls. I've played for 25 years and while there are more expensive strings and arguably better sounding, this sound great and I've never broken one playing live. Nothing feels weirder than when your equipment fails on stage but these string don't break: 10s, 11s, 12s. I'm pretty heavy handed and bend strings like crazy... they just dont break. The other guitarist i play with has broken 3 strings on stage but not me.. play hard

I've been playing since the early 80's. In my first 10 years of playing I tried Slinky's, Boomers, D' Addario, Blue Steel, etc. Once I really got into playing, building, set ups, etc. I went back to Slinky's, been using them now consistently for about 15 years. D'Addario is my second fav. but slinky's are still the way to go.. Overall to me, I think they have the best tone, they last longer than any others (And on some of my guitars I put them through a lot. Dive bombs, huge bends etc.). You just have to be patient with stretching them out and locking in the tuning, but once they're stretched and tuned they'll usually give you all the life you want. ( I try to change out every 3 months) But I have one old guitar kinda my beat around guitar and the guitar I let my kids use etc. and Haven't changed the strings in over a year. And my kids abuse the heck out of them. But to me it's all about the tone..there's a reason why guys like Slash, Jimmy Page etc use these.
