Ok, I've tried just about every string available at one time or another. Thought I was a D'Addario guy for a while, then thought DR's were the ones, but these strings sound better by far on both my main guitars. I like a real crisp string. Something that retains a good snap, and doesn't get dull or thuddy after a gig or two. These do that. They retain that new string feel and sound even when nicely broken in. What can I say , they get the job done for me. I play a 2005 Gretsch 6120, and an Epiphone Emperor modded with P-90's. The Fender 250's sound the best so far on both those instruments hands down.

I've played pretty much every brand of strings musicians friend sells. Dean markley, elixir, ernie ball, d'addario, cleartone, sit, ghs, thomastik, dr, and gibson. I can say that some brands of strings might be voiced better to a particular guitar.. But for my custom les paul these .10's fender 250 nickels are the best i've ever played. The feel is great, they're bright and they last a good 2-3 weeks w/ string cleaner. I play 2hrs a night. Love em' bought a bunch. try em they're cheap!

I recently bought a road worn 50s strat which came with these strings. I made the error of changing the strings to ernie ball slinky 10s... and said yuck. I went back to the fender 250r strings which I believe is extremely integral to getting that "real strat" sound, that real Fender strat sound. Hard to explain, but that's why I highly recommend these for fender guitars, over other string brands. That's my 2 cents worth. :)
