Comments about Fender Fatfinger Bass Sustain Enhancer:

I've done a fair share of research on 4 string electric bass dead spots. They occur on the G string around the C fret.
In my readings I read about the Fatfinger and have now tried it.
    It's useless for me.
It might work on another bass but I doubt it.

    Use a heavy capo instead

Comments about Fender Fatfinger Bass Sustain Enhancer:

The idea is great, I had a Eb flat note on my D string on my bass that would not ring out, had a heavy capo that worked but for playing live it looked odd, seen this and thought it would work. It is good quality but the felt came off and I guess the weight was not there as the sustain was not evident so I went back and used the capo (G7)

        It works, but it's heavy...

Comments about Fender Fatfinger Bass Sustain Enhancer:

I got this to fix a dead spot on one of my basses... While it didn't completely fix the dead spot, it did make it more tolerable. Also, it had a positive effect on the way the rest of the bass sounded.

That said, I believe I will only use it when I'm recording cause it adds a lot of weight to the headstock.
There's a lot more to this design that I thought there would be... It has a hard wax'ish plastic (Delrin?) on the side that will hit the front of your headstock, and a large felt pad for the back to keep it from scratching the instrument.

The part that goes on the front of the headstock easily slips under the strings around the tuning pegs. The back is designed so it can fit over the tuning machines. This makes it easy to place the fat finger where you want...

It would be nice if it came in more finishes... I think it's only available in chrome...
It METAL! My family will be wondering what it is after I'm dead...
It works... If you have sustain problems, or dead spots, it will help... Might not cure the problem, but it helps...

        Almost perfect.

Comments about Fender Fatfinger Bass Sustain Enhancer:

After reading reviews online about this thing I almost regretted ordering it. That was until I played my bass without it. It went right back on, don't plan on taking it off unless I put it on my other rigs. A little big but you really need mass and weight. Play a gig on Saturday and on monday when you get home from work...still humming. Sustain for days. Slight exagerration but really it just rings. Not pretty to look at but well worth the small price.
        Fantastic piece of brass
Not sure on this one as there has to be a better way. tungsten weights or something.
