1. Battery life. I went through 2 batteries with only a few uses of the tuner. It appears this unit drains the battery even when off. I measured this with a precision micro-amp meter (Model MV-852). When the tuner is on, it draws about 7.4mA (milliamps). This is no problem. However, turned off it draws about 72uA (microamps). I think excessive compared to other similar tuners. To keep it short, if you do the math you get about 90 days battery life with the tuner OFF. Less if you use it. I either got a dud, or the sleep mode current is high on this unit. I now plan to take the battery out if i'm not using it once a week or more.
2. Positioning. Even though it has 2 axis of rotation it seems it's hard to get it level with your eyes / vertical to the ground when used on a guitar, bass, or especially a violin. This is no big deal if you dont mind viewing it sideways.
3. Modes: I wish there was a seperate on/off button and Mode button. It's quite easy to click the on/off button an extra time on power up and get into a mode you don't want.

I've had this tuner for a long time and just today read some of the reviews. I haven't had any of the problems some people have had. This little guy has five settings. Chromatic, guitar, bass, violin, and ukulele. I've read a few reviews that say it doesn't pick up the low e on a bass or that it only tunes standard. However, on my bass and guitars all that's been possible with the Chromatic setting, all and all great tuner for the price

Worked perfectly out of the box. After several montha, it is still wotking perfectly on the original battery that was included. It can be easily positioned for viewing. It worked so well, I purchased these two, one for an experienced musician and one for a Professional musician/instructor. Both are still raving about the ease of use.

Works okay on my 6 string acoustic and electrics. It does not register/"hear" the low E on my Bass guitars, if you are planning on using this on a Bass guitar, forget it.
