The Fender Jazz Bass Cases I purchased at Musician's Friend fill the bill perfectly! Constructed by G&G Cases of L.A. California, MADE IN THE USA! Outstanding quality at a very competitive price. They hug my Jazz Bass snugly and securely, and my Ibanez ATK fits like a dream. If you have a bass with the overall size similar to a Fender Jazz Bass, (Ibanez, MusicMan, G&L, Peavey, Carvin, etc.) This is the case to get, and at $139.95 delivered to your door (in the lower 48)this is the BEST DEAL you're going to find! Stash that flimsy gig bag and treat your cherished bass to a REAL secure and protective hard case.

Bought this case before leaving on a 5 week tour overseas. Within the first two weeks, I noticed the alignment on the two outside latches seemed off. They were hard to lock into place when closing the case, and sometimes tricky to release when opening.
After 4 weeks of very gentle use (in and out of the touring van to the venue), one of the locking mechanisms on the lack broke off completely, making the latch unusable. The case is always half-open now. I'm sure the other latch won't last much longer either.
Perhaps I was given a defective model, but for such an expensive purchase (and one that is expected to be an investment of sorts) it's a pretty big bummer. I'd be hesitant to go for a fender case with these types of latches in the future.

Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:
I bought this for my Jaguar bass and it's really nice, sturdy and plush, like my other Fender cases. Plus this has, like most of my other cases, the Fender logo on the outside. The newer cases have a cheap little Fender plate under the handle.

I'm typically a gigbag user (hybrid bags like Mono, InCase, Sadowsky Portabag, etc.) because of the convenience of throwing your bass over your shoulder and going into the gig in one trip, but there's something special about pulling a vintage styled bass out of one of an authentic G&G hardcase. They are built very well, not too heavy, and they look great!

Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:
Love This Bass Case! This is a beautiful bass case! Has the lovely plush interior and it fits my beloved Fender Jazz Bass like a glove! Don't get me wrong, I like the new style Fender Bass Cases, but there is just something about one of these! Maybe it's nostalga, I don't know but these cases remind me of the good old days of traveling with band from town to town...Ah yes, I remember when...Get yourself one of these cases! Your bass deserves it!
Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:
I bought a '62 Vintage Reissue in 1984 which came with the tweed vintage case. After almost 30 years of "weekend warrior" gigging, it was getting a bit too worn, and the spring on one of the latches broke. I tried to get a replacement part for just that but after a very disappointing search, I realized that for this price I could get a new case fast. This case is a real gem and I'm looking forward to another 30 years of service!!
Provides a nice storage space for accesories and a fit for your instrument that ensures it won't move around.
The quality of material and workmanship is extraordinary, hard to find this sort of craftsmanship these days.
At this price with low priced shipping to my front door fast? What do you think!!!
Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:
The case was too short and the width did not fit right either on my Marcus Miller Signiture Jazz Bass. I'm not sure if I got one that was built incorrectly or my particular jazz bass is different than a standard. I had to send it back. I exchanged it for a cheaper skb-44 universal case. It is much lighter and the bass fits, just barely. It doesn't have the vintage appeal like this case does though.
Liked the retro looks to match a 70s era style bass. The case is heavy though.
Materials and construction seem good quality.
Kind of expensive for a case
Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:
Like I said, this is the best case that I own. It's heavy to lug around, but that's a good thing.
All the standard features for a quality case. Locking mechanism. Small metal plate with the Fender logo next to the handle. I own another case for my Fender Strat that I bought a few years ago from the same company and it has the larger Fender logo written in script on the side of the hardshell, wish this one had it also.
Really well made, inside and out. I got the tweed case and was really surprised that it wasn't one of those tweed looking vinyl coverings. This is actually a tweed cloth covering. Very nice indeed !! What goes inside is a Fender Jazz bass with a very tight fit. That guitar won't shift at all once the lid is closed. Buy it with the red lining. You won't be disappointed. Beautiful. Best looking case I own.
It is pricey but certainly a lot less money than what some manufacturer's want for their cases.
Comments about Fender Jazz Bass Hardshell Case:
Very well built case. You wont find any plastic parts on it and is made by G&G cases built to vintage specs in America! I have the tweed with red interior and it is simply gorgeous, It is actualy quite heavy and weighs a little bit with my Mexican standard in it. This is not the case you want if you plan for it to be slammed around on tour or to take a heavy beating, It's a NICE case and if cared for well, it will be what my grandkids find an old beat up beat up fender jazz in 50 years from now.
