I highly recommend this pedal. It's user-friendly, good looking, solid as a brick, and it does exactly what it's supposed to do... For the money, what else could you ask for?
I had the PT-10 for close to a decade and never had any issues with it. But one night I had a few too many celebratory aftershow drinks and left it at the club never to see it again.

I bought the PT-100 as a replacement and so far have loved it even more than my trusty old PT-10. The silent tuning output is great for quick tune ups between songs during shows. It's cool to also have the ability to have it on with the signal still travelling through... nice light show while you play.

I especially love the marker lights showing you how far away you are from being in key. I occasionally play for hip-hop / electronic groups. They speed up the songs they sample now and then, necessitating wierd tunings somewhere between standard and 1/2 step up. With the marker dots, I simply aim 3 away from center, and boom, I'm ready to rock.

I've yet to use the display showing what key I'm in, but once I get the urge to start working in open tunings, etc, I know I'll love it.
This thing is solid. So solid that it's almost weapons grade. You could use it to defend yourself against wave after wave of groupies, and it'd still be working perfectly the next night.
There are far more expensive tuners out there, and I hear great things, but this guy is solid, and relatively inexpensive. Plus, it's a fender, so it looks good.

I have no idea why this pedal has gotten good reviews. The housing itself is rugged but the part that matters the most to be solid, the footplate itself, is cheap snap on plastic! If you step on it on an angle, it will snap right off! HUGE flaw. If you can't step on a pedal without it coming apart, no matter how well it works...it sucks. If you have to stomp on it hard, which you will have to because it doesn't engage well, you could break one of the 4 clips that hold it in place. Really bad design. I bought two for my school because of the price and both are weak. Clear LED's but most pedals are like that. Expect way more from Fender.

Comments about Fender PT-100 Pedal Tuner:

I have been using a plug in tuner for years and it worked for me, but after I bought this inline tuner I didn't know what I'd been missing out on. This tuner is quick to display the note. You can slide up the neck on the guitar and it will catch nearly every note. You can even use it while you play and see the notes you are playing. Great tuner and great price. Very satisfied! Good job on this one fender.

Comments about Fender PT-100 Pedal Tuner:

This is a great tuner for your money. I have read alot of bad reviews saying that the button pops off and te bolt on the inputs fall off but i have been useing it live and have had no problem. I love this pedal. The only feature i wish they would change is instead of the bypass output have a seperate button that changes it from normal to silent tunings. Other than that i think this tuneing pedal is a great pedal. I chose this pedal over the boss chromatic pedal and i am happy i did. I my guitar player has the boss and honestly it is confusing and hard to read. I give fender a thumbs up on this one.

Comments about Fender PT-100 Pedal Tuner:

Best buy for the money and it works.
I have owned this tuner for 7 years and have used it for playing gigs ( 2 a month) for the entire time I have owned it. I have never had any issues with it and have no intentions of replacing it. It works perfectly and is still in one piece. I do not abuse my equipment but I do use it. This tuner has stood up to 7 years of gigging and still works and looks as good as the day I bought it. I highly recommend it.
No issues
Works as good as any and priced way below

Good Tuner

Comments about Fender PT-100 Pedal Tuner:

If you can afford a better tuner pedal I say go for that one. This is more trouble than it's worth.
Nice Bright LED lights which makes it easy to see in the dark. Letters are clear.
I have to stomp on it a couple times to get it to shut off. It takes a while to recognize the note being played, especially when drop tuning. However I use this for my bass so that may contribute to the problem.
Good tuner pedal for the money.

Best tuner pedal for the money

Comments about Fender PT-100 Pedal Tuner:

I bought this tuner mainly driven by the price, but couldn't be more pleased. It's well built and very responsive and as stated previously, the indicator lights work great, indoors or out, day or night.
As with most tuner pedals, there's not much in the way of features; you plug in your guitar and the lights indicate sharp or flat until you get it tuned. However, the optional output for silent tuning is nice, and the light display is bright enough for daytime use, and is easily visible on the darkest of stages.
Very solidy built, flawless operation.
Considering that most pedal tuners are $$$ this is a bargain at literally half the price!

Comments about Fender PT-100 Pedal Tuner:

I'm EXTREMELY disappointed that Fender would put their name on such a worthless product!

Nice big letters and bright LEDs are great, but I need a tuner that actually functions.

My first problem was that I had to step on it at least two times to turn it on or off and had to use most of my weight to do so.
Secondly, it takes several seconds for it to pick up the note, especially the lower strings. No time for that between songs!
Now, after only my 8th gig with this tuner, the "Out 1" jack doesn't work at all and the input jack is cutting out every time I move my cable!

I should have bought the BOSS TC-U in the first place; it's a MUCH better product!

Great tuner for the $

By Fast Freddy

Comments about Fender PT-100 Pedal Tuner:

This is a great value for the money. I have at least 6 different tuners and this is by far my favorite.
You have two different jacks to plug into, one that allows the sound of the guitar to continue while you have the tuner on, the other allows you to tune quietly. Does exactly what you want a tuner to do at half the price of some of the other brands. The lights are really easy to see in ANY light. Very bright.
Seems to be built pretty solid. Bought mine used in good condition and have been using it for a few months now with no problems. Sometimes, it doesn't want to pick up the tune on the high E string on the first stroke, but overall nice.
You can waste your money on some really cheap tuners or give away your money on some that are really expensive. Ultimately, you should buy this pedal as it is priced right and solid as a rock.

Good as a tuner but.........

Comments about Fender PT-100 Pedal Tuner:

I have had this tuner for about a year. As far as the job it does as a tuner, it works great. Perfect tuning as far as my ears can tell and the meter doesn't jump around like many other tuners I have had. Fairly bright display that can be easily seen. That's the good news. Now the bad. My complaint is one of harware. The pedal body is made of nice strong aluminum and is really solid. The pedal portion that you step on is cheap plastic and mine pops out of the pedal almost evertime I step on it. I have relagated this pedal for home use only. On stage use is not practical. You will spend time bent over putting the plastic pedal piece back into the pedal block amost everytime you use it.

Great tuners

Comments about Fender PT-100 Pedal Tuner:

Don't know about these guys that say this tuner breaks ?? I've had the PT100 for about five years and it's performed flawlessly .. Before that I had the PT10 ( same tuner without the LED ) for about six years without an issue of any kind .. You can leave these pedals plugged in until doomsday with drawing the battery unless you are actually using the tuner ... The batteries in mine typically last a year ...

Got this on sale for [$], and at that price it beats all the other tuners in the price range. Seems fairly accurate, has good visibility, and the muted output for silent tuning is nice. You wouldn't think accuracy would be an issue, but I recently bought a different brand tuner in the under $20.00 price range that is no more accurate than tuning by ear.

Comments about Fender PT-100 Pedal Tuner:

Got this pedal today, and am so happy with it. I figured it being so cheap, that there would be a catch to it. I have been dabbling with crazy tune-ings lately, like drop d, drop c, and drop b, and this thing saves so much time. It will tune to C, F, or any of those crazy tunes a normal tuner won't pick up. Plus it even lets you know #, or b, for sharp or flat. All with NICE BRIGHT LED lights. And very heavy duty construction, with very accurate tunes. It is my cheapest pedal, but I think it is now my new favorite one. I honestly dont know what more a $100 pedal could have.

I have had this for 3 years now (the version with out the big display on top) and they only complain, is that I wished they would've done before I bought it, that big display works like a charm. besides that, it has taken a beating! and it doesn't drain your battery that quickly. On top of that I tuned drop D and C and it never misses.

I play about 3 times a week, and I have found that its accuracy, convenience and quick response in tuning up is excellent. I would highly recommend. My entire group uses this model. Battery life on mine has been around 2.5 months before having to change the battery. Tell Boss to try and match that without a power supply.

Comments about Fender PT-100 Pedal Tuner:

I bought this pedal tuner to use at church, especially for worship practice, which usually has to stop completely when I need to tune. I just got it today, and brought it home, put a battery in it, hit the switch, and nothing happened. After some investigation I figured out that this pedal is made to where it won't turn on unless there is a cable plugged into the input. Nice battery-saving feature, but the problem is, there is NO MENTION of this in the user manual. After I figured that out, it was smooth sailing. I haven't had the chance to actually use it at church yet, but I don't forsee any major problems.
Simple to use and it does what Fender says it's supposed to do. The bright LED's are definately a plus.
Overall this seems to be a sturdy, well-built unit. I can't say it's perfect, though, because of the plastic foot switch. The battery compartment could be designed better, too.
Pretty good value for what I paid for it!

I have used many tuners, I've bought so many and they didn't tune well or you know, whatever. But I plugged this thing into my guitar, and I was able to tune within 30 seconds and I was way off. This tuner is very accurate, and the LED lights are very bright so you could see them even when its really dark out, but its not too bright so that it shines everywhere. Well worth the money, I am very pleased. Good job Fender.

I can't speak for this model of pedal, but I can speak for it's predecessor, the PT-10. I've had the Fender PT-10 for the last four years. It has endured all sorts of abuse from multiple gigs and MUCH traveling. It has held together very well. Some scratches, but the full metal body design had done exceptionally well. The only problem I would have voiced would be the lack of a led note display, which they have remedied on the PT-100's.Great pedal. Has performed as well as my bandmates Boss Tuner. Recommend.
